If they are saying as like you mentioned, surely they are showing lazyness for our handset.

Both time on call get same answer from different persons like it is in testing now one they find it O.K. in testing it will release after 45 days of it.
Following is answer from chat.
"Our developers are working on it. Once it is released, you will be notified via FOTA (Firmware Over the Air). We can understand your eagerness to update the device OS. However, the updates are decided by the developer after thorough testing and checking if the update indeed improves the performance of the device. If we find the updates useful then you will be notified on the device via FOTA. In the meanwhile, you can enhance the features of the device by downloading third party apps from Google Play. Although, we are unable to recommend any specific apps but the apps with the star rating of 4 and 5 are considered good. So you can consider installing them. If you come across any issues then you can simply uninstall them. As of now, it is still in pipeline. However, we are optimistic about the update. I do not want to set any wrong expectation as to when will it be released.But already, we have released the Marshmallow for ONE M8, ONE A9, Desire 816, ONE M8 Eye. So steadily our developers are working on to release the updates for other models also. The best feature of Marshmallow is that you can expand the internal memory using the SD card. Earlier, where you could not move the apps to SD card gets resolved because of this feature. So you will not fall short of space when installing apps on the phone. However, you will get to know what other features that actually come for your model once the update is released."
Both the time they given very generic answers which showed their laziness and no commitment towards customer satisfaction.
HTC is not at all very much customer loving and engaging company I observed. They behave like they just do favours to us by giving updates.
Same love an affection they can expect from us in India for sure at least from me personally. I am not sure about other fan boys out there.
And for the people who have sources or news from insiders... I believe it is all useless to discuss release date as of now..
I believe this phone is either usable on Kitkat only or better to get rid of it. For those who are using it for just because of Reliance Communication CDMA, RCOM is upgrading everyone to 4G in phased manner so better get a 4G handset.
I will investigate some opportunity if this can be used on 4G and will post if successful in it else getting a new 4G capable device is the way to go.
I personally will definitely get rid of HTC as they delivered update too much delayed at the time of Lollipop also and doing same at the time of Marshmallow... God knows even if they will give update or not.
I personally will not look back on HTC and will not recommend HTC to anyone going forward for sure.

updated to MM ..i live in eu and my E8 was purchased in Vietnam. What i like with htc is the sound .After the upgrad sound is greater imo. My main phone is meizu pro 5.

Got the update a long time ago in here in turkey. I have the blue single sim edition. No major changes but sense 7 is awesome
