This is your world and we're just living in it.

    Thank you.

AnonD-116479, 12 May 2014I can't recall the exact amount bro. But it was obviously l... moreUpcoming phones will always be better. There's lg g3, s5 prime, one max 2, note 4. These are Q2 phones and will carry QHD screens and snapdragon 805 processors.

QHD screen is a waste of battery and GPU power iMO. But snapdragon 805 may be nice.

I too think so. He desperately needed something premium. But m8 was still way better as he had budget. M7 is worse than s4 in screen, cpu, battery life, camera, audio quality and ui. It's premium and packs great speakers but it can't be termed as an upgrade. I've used it for a month and I was too happy to return to my s4. Also I desperately need an sd card as I have 10 GB of movies, 17.7 gb of photos and videos and 16 gb of music collection for my phone and m7 did not have enough storage.

Anyways, I don't know why but htc has always been my second priority. Many years back when I was a small school going kid(10th grade) and was ready to purchase my first phone I had a choice between htc butterfly and galaxy y. These were the lowest end droids and cheapest too. But back then even touchscreen and wifi were big things for me. I got the galaxy y just due to the fact that it had better processor and regretted later as butterfly was a better phone. A year later my phone got wet and I was happy that it damaged. Again I had choice between xperia u and htc one v. I got xperia u due to its design, sharpness and dual core processor. But later still regretted my decision as it had only 6 gb of storage and that too without micro sd expansion. Later when I passed my high school with flying colours( I was under 100 among 1.3 million students) I decided to buy a phone without compromises. Again there were only 2 droids. Namely s4 octa and m7. I researched for a month( I had a vacation) and got the octa. Only this time I have no regret.

And now I'm again on the verge of buying a new phone and one is htc again. If I buy it, I think it'll be m8 as I want to go premium for a chance.

      Have a nice day.

Yeh, I think he sincerely need a HTC phone. But I think upcoming 5.5 inches HTC Max 2 will be better than the M8. According to rumours it will have QHD display, 18 mp camera and latest snapdragon cpu. He should have wait for it if the size doesn't matter.

And I think saurav had got some kind of disorder. How can he go for an m7. That's actually a downgrade after s4 octa. BTW Thanks for telling that.

AnonD-116479, 12 May 2014We can't blame any manufacturer regarding this issue. It's ... moreI don't recommend to root the phone till the period you have warranty. After root, you get the supreme control of the os and can use the sd card as part of internal storage. I have my s4 rooted just on the day my warranty was over but I still don't need this feature as you can't use the phone without sd card then.

The manufacturers are responsible for the insane price and less availability of 32 and 64 gb phones. Who else is responsible? And devs are responsible for move to sd card not available in all apps. If devs agree, they can incorporate this feature in every app.

I personally prefer 32 gb phone with sd card slot. You can remove sd cards and can use any number of them. We can also use them as small portable storages. They ease storage. I won't buy a phone which doesn't have sd card slot.

Great to know that you can move apps to sd card on m8. Can you also tell how much storage us available at the start out of 16 gb on m8 and s5?

It's merely the Google's decision. Many android users suffering from this Kitkat SD card issue. I can move some apps into the SD card but not all the apps. I think latest version of the apps will enable this feature. Anyway, I saw some patches on Google store to fix the SD card issue and root your phone. But I'm scared to do that.

I think Google needs to force phone manufactures to design phones without SD cards.

AnonD-8044, 11 May 2014You seem well up on memory cards so you may be able to help... moreThe internal memory is Flash storage which is much more costly than the sd cards. Plus companies loot us too by charging even higher costs for those storages. For example, apple takes 200$ to move from 16gb to 32 gb. That's damn expensive. But that's Apple.

The internal storage us definitely faster than the sd cards but it's not that expensive as companies make it. If the company provides no sd card than the costumer will have to go for 32 or 64 gb model asks if they price it higher that means more profit.

And the class 10 uhs I cards have great speed. For a comparison, a high end internal storage will give speeds around 50 to 60 MB/s. A class 2, 4 or 6 sd card will give speeds less than 10 MB/S with speed getting higher with numbers. A class 10 sd card is recommended for high end phones. It provides speeds higher than 10 MB/s. Among class 10 sd cards, there are uhs I cards which provide even higher speeds. For example, my Samsung 64 gb uhs I card provides 70 mb/s read speed and 20 mb/s write speed and it costs around 60$( us dollar).

shubham yadav, 11 May 2014I'm using an s4 and I can successfully move apps to sd card... moreYou seem well up on memory cards so you may be able to help with the following..Thanks..

When Nokia brought out the N97 the memory was 32gb but class 2..They put class 2 in the device for ruggedness as it had to a least last for the 2 years a contract ran for..They reckon folk would delete this memory many times taking photos/videos putting them on comp then deleting for the next lot of data..

So we come forward to now and Apple and other manufacturers are charging the earth for internal memory..Is this because they are using a class 4,6,10 internal memory and it costs more? If so they must have increased the ruggedness (ie constant read/write/delete) of memory over past few years...

If Google are insisting on the no-sd card rules then manufacturers are going to have to increase internal storage..There is no other way but if they insist on charging loads of money phones will be very expensive..Why did my 64GB card from Amazon cost 38GBP yet manufacturers charge 5x that for internal storage? Are they using some other robust memory?

If this is Googles way forward with fixed memory then we can expect a huge rise in smartphone costs..:(

                                Thanks again.
