mekica, 23 Mar 2016htc m9 or lg g3? HTC One M9! The LG G3 is a nice phone, but with the short review, the M9 is faster in all aspects. Not counting its outstanding 20MP camera. Battery life is decent. LG G3 has more known issues over the M9. They are both great phones, the bigger screen on the G3 is its main focus for most. Still the M9 is better in value and usability.

i loved the htc one m8. took amazing pictures, sleek body, great features (despite being really easily slowed down and not very well optimized) so when i upgraded, i naturally went for the m9. it had all the same features i loved, but better optimized with vastly improved camera functionality (really wish they would have improved the front camera equally), but there is one HUGE, HUGE, HUGE design fail that literally /ruins/ this phone for me.
Why? Why in god's green earth would you move the main power button from the most logical and safest place for it to be—at the top of the phone, out of the way of being accidently pressed and subsequently hanging up on the person you're talking to—to literally the WORST place you could put a power button on a phone: right under your right index finger while holding the phone up to your head. Right underneath the volume down button, where it is accidently hit ALL the time while trying to turn the volume up or down. Even /with/ the option for that button to manage the phone's "off" or "hangup" switch, it still shuts down the screen or puts it in sleep mode when: i'm watching youtube, listening to music, puts it in do not disturb mode unbenownst to me which causes me to miss calls. seriously, someone should be fired over this.
Did nobody user test? No one in the whole team thought "a really important button that shuts down stuff and can really screw up device usability should probably not go where your fingers are hanging about 90% of the time"? This stupid button placement has literally screwed me SO MANY TIMES I've nearly chucked it into the water more times that i can count. But other than that I love it. Seriously, guys. on the m10, DON'T DO THAT!!! What?? What were you thinking??
The other feature I had thought for sure would be on this round that wasn't (and i was sorely disappointed about) is color-coded led notificaiton lights. I mean, c'mon dude. It's 2016 and those multicolored LEDs are sooooooo cheap, just add the extra 10 cents to the BOM. We will pay for it. Really, we will. You owe us for turning our life-management devices into primadonna, unprodictable temper-tantrum power-shutting-offings, hanging-up-on-people $700 paperweights.
Worst. Design flaw. Ever.

Just got the M9 and loving it so far, although I have noticed that it turns off the microphone sometimes during a call. I can hear my caller but they cannot hear my voice. Happens atlas once per day so I have to disconnect and call again to get it working right again.

AnonD-515411, 16 Mar 2016guys plz help htc one m9 or htc one a9 plz help!!Had the htc one m9 for 2 months. battery life is shockinly bad, I make this comparison to a 4 year old s3 which easily surpasses the htc on every aspect. Intermittent speaker problems, off and on lagging and freezing. Not in a massive rush to take it back as im likely to recieve a refurb which will more than likely experience the same problems at some point. Must point out that ive used an s3 for 4 years and never had such an issue.

Had mine since release date nearly a year ago and great phone, super quick but I do find that when making calls and resting the phone between my ear and shoulder if not tight against the ear the proximity sensor initialises the phone screen and then there is a bllp to warning me the call has been terminated. This does not happen if I hold the directly against my ear using my hand. I have contacted HTC and Vodafone but there is no setting for the sensor and both just brush me off as if I am mad.
