This one is better than One M8 and never failed me. The only minus is that it only has a quad-core 1.7GHz processor

in mobile data>network mode
you should see the option for 2g/3g/4g auto.
if you don't, you may have a modified ROM installed or a fake HTC ONE MAX.

AnonD-215746, 27 Oct 2016I'm using windows 10 Home 64 bit. I have an htc sync manage... morethere is no need to put it in fast boot mode your self.
if the drivers are installed correctly on your PC, when you run the ROM and it checks your phone, it will auto power down and reboot your phone in the needed mode.
But the first part is for the PC to correctly see your phone.
turn on (normal) and have it unlocked. see if the htc sync manager will see it.
if not, try turning on USB debugging mode in developer options of your phone, and see if that helps.
only when the sync manager can see the phone will the downloaded ROM also see the phone.

I think we are on the same page. I actually downloaded the RUU firmware on the htc page. tried to connect my htc phone in fastboot mode then run the RUU firmware, unfortunately after i click the 'agree with terms and conditions', the install wizard is not appearing. T_T

AnonD-215746, 25 Oct 2016Yes, I did try to 'wipe cache partition' before proceeding ... moreIt's strange that it is not factory resetting form recovery mode.
you sure its not resetting and you are picking restore from backup when the phone starts?
if you are not doing that, the only other thing i would try if i was you........ would be to manually flash the ROM from a PC using the factory unlocked developer ROM available for download on HTC USA page.

When the phone boots up, all my user settings, apps and data are still there. meaning, factory reset is not working. i even try to uninstall all the apps using the safe mode, unfortunately, it still restarts.. huhu..

Are you using the restore backup after the reset? if you are, you may want to skip that and manually install your apps after the rest. using the phone a bit after each app install, till you find the app that a causing the problem. after a clean cache and a factory reset with no extra apps installed. it's not rebooting, would mean the problem is being caused by one of your apps.

My phone is not stuck in boot loop, the scenario is, it will open completely, i can navigate on it for like one minute or less after it completely opens and then it will shut off and restart.
tried to factory reset as you mentioned but still the phone did not start as brand new.. same as ever, it feels like the factory reset mode in recovery mode did not functioning..
