Never understood why manufacture even think of display greater than 4.5 inches ( 4.7 is limit)..

A sweet phone would be 4.5 inch screen, 2 GB RAM , 2000mAh battery , > 8 MP camera , 720x1280 resolution, 2MP front camera.. a camera button .. small convex mirror at the back ..and nice build...

I was hoping to buy this phone as it is lovely looking, but at 137mm long with a 4.5" screen it isn't under any moniker a 'mini' phone.
The only way I can see this phone being a success is if they price it at £330 or less. The Xperia compact costs £360.

In my country(India) I can get 4 'Moto G's instead of this hefty price tag phone, irony is both are having almost similar specs, of course Moto G lacks in build quality compared to mini 2 though G feels nice in the hands...come on htc, make the price reasonable else you will face even tougher financial years in future!! I personally feel htc is following BB with illogical pricing on its products......!!

Minor changes from last years model... why do they even bother? You don't release a new model without bumping up the specs, if you're gonna do it to the flagship device then you can do it to the mini version as well.

Anonymous, 17 May 2014Please do it 2gigs of ram to buy it at once I would buy NOW a HTC one mini with 2 GB and AMOLED.
In fact, this is what the most people need(I guess).
2 Ghz, 2 GB RAM,4.3 or 4.5 inch Amoled(being the best screen and I need it to fit in my pocket) and at least 2200 mAH battery.

The rest of the feature it matters but not so much.
I don't know why the phone companies do not make a product like that.

The only thing I hate about this phone is its expensive price. It's even more expensive than a Nexus 5, geez!

sony mobiles price range is never that attractive as expected often, its not for middle class guys.
if the price range is affordable means the specifications are as stupid as expected.
at least 1gb RAM & 4gb inbuilt with much needed more space for apps is general demand now a days by any national/international brands under 12K figure.
And, this is key of success as well at present time for any smartphone manufacturer atleast in INDIA.

AnonD-204681, 18 May 2014I wonder if you can switch off blink feed?yes u can.......go to home screen and pinch, and a menu page will come about about widgets and stuff. You should see a turn off blink feed on the top left or the screen. Its that easy.

As much as I wanted the mini 2 and love HTC. its a commercial disaster at the size. What were the team thinking. A mini bigger than the One X. It will cost them a lot of sales. The M8 good but this is not good as a mini.
The mini design team should be put out to pasture. its a no brainer that its too big for its name sake.
