I have tried a lot of phones out there over the years, and they get better, with more features, but less likeable - because there is always something to complain about.
Which is why I still love my SE T630, and Nokia 6310 (and even my 8910), nothing to complain about and they still work.
But even I look for something more from a handset these days, but I got stuck on Blackberry for a bit. It gave me fantastic email and text access, great music, and internet (of a fashion), and nothing out there was really showing me anything 'extra'. I dabbled with the iPhone, but way too limited, and I dabbled with Windows (too tied down), and Android... All three were ok, all three had their issues (but at least they weren't symbian - bleurgh), but the handsets had their own limitations.
Android became the best shout - every manufacturer put their own spin on the software and the design, so at least they were interesting through variation, but what was the best?

No idea. So I tried a few... Always dropping back to the Blackberry. Then along came the Desire S from htc.
Fantastic piece of kit. Ticked all the boxes, even some I hadn't thought of. And it looked damn good - and that includes the software. I loved it from day 1, and the BB was forgotten about. Suddenly I was using the internet more, in addition to the features I used on the BB. And the camera - not like me, but so easy, and pretty decent pictures. So I was happy with my choice. But was there anything better?
No. Until the Samsung Galaxy S came out. Okay, so the software wasn't as pleasant to use, but the screen quality was phenomenal (great for watching movies). I made the switch. And I got used to it. Another great piece of kit, but... It lacked soul. It felt like a gadget, a phone. The Desire S had felt more like an extension of me. Something I would never have considered leaving the house without. The Galaxy S was just a phone. A great phone, but just a phone. And to be honest, a bit big for my liking (I want something to fit comfortably in my pocket).

And so along came the htc Rhyme. Know what? First impressions were that the Desire S is the best phone I have ever used, and the Rhyme just wasn't up to the challenge. One of the things I loved in the software was the weather screensaver when I unlocked the screen - and this was different on the latest update. Such a small thing, but disappointing.
Spec wise, there is little to differentiate the two handsets (desire s and rhyme), so it's not really an upgrade as such, but with htc sense the interface is very slick, easy to use, friendly, and good looking.
The Friend Stream is still in place, and is much easier to use than the Facebook App or website (I don't really use it for anything else). It's easy to modify the home page, adding icons, bookmarks, moving them around, changing the background - and I like that it's circular, none of this left to right nonsense.
Everything else is as you'd expect, really, and I use the features I've always used. So what impresses me? Other than the look and feel? Well, I use the internet, every day - it's clear, and works well. The email is surprisingly easy to set up, and I have 4 additional accounts (as well as the gmail), with no issues. Battery life is better than most smart phones I have used (though not as good as the Desire S, it would seem), even when using the book reader. And of course, the main feature on any phone - the alarm clock. Nice to see that it's totally definable with multiple alarms, settings and sounds.
The only thing left to add is the extras - the dock that comes in the box. Unusual but welcome addition, and it looks good too. And the 8GB memory card, which seems to come preloaded with maps to cut down on data usage when using gps. Fantastic addition.
Oh, I should say that the camera takes a damn decent picture, even in low light - and although it's not as good as the Experia S, because of the shortcuts on the home/lock screen, it can go from locked to taking a picture in pretty much the same time as Sony's fast capture. I have looked on the net, but can't see any claims or comparisons to this effect, but I have tested it out, and if there is any difference it is negligible.

Bottom line - if you are looking for a reliable smartphone, easy to use, that doesn't scrimp on features and doesn't break the bank, you really can't do any better.

p.s. I have to admit, I actually really like the new weather screensaver now - it grew on me.

AnonD-54172, 10 May 2012hello friends, i am thinking to buy htc rhyme because of it... moreit's mean that u can't remove ur battery and set it again by urself

same specs are One V and Desire S and all of them have the same feature (Non-user-replaceable battery).

so if u need accessories go for Rhyme (Dock Station - headphone - USB cable - charger - Charm)
if u want using the new phone (One V) with Ice cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0 so go for it
if u need a phone with the same specs with lower price go for Desire S

be aware that Rhyme and Desire S will be Updated with ICS and Sense "3.6"

AnonD-53845, 07 May 2012Is that rhyme comes with Corning Gorilla Glass display or not ?corning gorilla glass is so famous now becoz it's the first company made the scratch resistant glass, but now there are many companies made a scratch and damage resistant glass and HTC deal with the best of them.

so the result is that the glass of the Rhyme is not Gorilla but be sure that is a Scratch and Damage resistant

in the end all the screens will be scratched even those made of Corning Gorilla like the SGSII and HTC one X

the advantage of the glass is to make ur screen without scratches for longer time

HTC Rhyme have another advantage which is the accessories of the mobile, in another side HTC Rhyme will be look like the one v, s and x when u update it to 4.0.3 ICS, the sense will be updated too to 3.6 which is a combination between Sense 3.5&4.0

fortunately the mobile entered in the list of the mobiles that will get the update.

Anonymous, 06 May 2012Hi Since the battery is non replacable what do we do after ... morelook bro..

the new fashion in the smartphone field is non-removable battery and no SD card slot and these two options make the phone live go longer coz these features won't permit to u open the cover of the mobile every now and then, so the mobile will be long live lasting like the Iphone.

about the battery, the experts said that the battery will work with all it's capacity for the first 150 time of charging, u will recharge the mobile every 2 days, which is mean that the battery of the mobile will work with all it's power for approximately one year and i expect that it will last for another 1 year and half with medium capacity, u have another 6 months with low capacity battery, which is mean that both of the battery and the device will last for 3 years of working.

everyone use the mobile for approximately 2 years and then changing it.

buy it it's really a good device and u will find with the package of the mobile the DOCK which is the most powerful accessory in all the world give u a 3d sound when u playing songs and make the mobile a big LCD to see ur favorite movies.

i bought it from 3 months and i found an excellent performance with high clarity screen and powerful battery last for 2 days with hard use.
