Hi, I'm from South Africa and have just received my new HTC S710. the phone works great!! I love the phone but I encountered a problemm with the camera! When i tried to take a picture, but the screen visual is upside down as well as the picture!!!!!!!!!! I tried to go to the settings but there is not screen rotation available in the settings. The only option for rotation is when the picture is already taken. PLEASE HELP!!! Grazelda

Had this phone for 24 months (contract) of which the last 9 months it spend at the bottom drawer of my desk after thrown there out of frustration. I had to return to my trusty old Nokia 6230i the phone I had before the HTC S710.
Problems I had was the phone just freeze and /or switch of by itself.(Once during a call – with a fully loaded battery) The screen go blank /white and you have to remove the battery for longer than 4 seconds to reset .
Not a reliable phone. I also think most of the problems are related to two areas –
1. The sliding connection that wears out over time and
2. Windows mobile.
With all the problems I had, my advice when choosing a phone is to avoid the following
A. Avoid “slide” or clam type phones – the mechanism damage over time.
B. Avoid a Windows mobile phone --- Do not think they have this mobile market concurred yet.
C. Avoid HTC – bad PR (they do not respond to emails or return calls)
I can’t wait to receive my next phone upgrade on Thursday (Nokia N79) when I can do the final frustration “test” – dumping the HTC forever!!!!

I've had my phone for over a year, i loved the phone until it started dying constantly - the screen goes blank and i can't make calls..........the BATTERY IS BAD!! I've been trying to figure out if to get another phone cuz i don't want to be stuck somewhere and can't make a call..
Has anyone experienced the screen going black? Is that as a result of the battery dying constantly?

Battery life is very poor as claimed. Battery lasted only 8 months and then under warranty got a new battery but that too after around 8 months gone bad. Hangs now and then.

This phone has really loud and great quality audio via Loudspeaker OR Headphones.
It does unfortunately often have software problems with its own operating system.
Generally I find it a pleasure to use.

It is very very fragile. I dropped my S710 once, from table to floor. Its LCD has broken and the custom of repair was too high. Big trash can!

I think the HTC S710 is the biggest load of trash you can get. Ihad one for a year and then i bought a Blackberry, my software on the HTC was soooooo slow. If you want a good phone get a BLACKBERRY, you wount go back.
