Hi, im am only 16 years old and i have to say, i am very impressed with my HTC S710. this phone is now 2 months old and apart from sending it back for repairs just once, I have never encountered a problem i cant fix. Its much easier to use my phone than a nokia(in my opinion) and i have loaded some appz on it, they work great, battery life is fair and all round its a brilliant phone, the only thing letting this phone down is the fact that it has no touch screen. Its works fine, mxit on it is fine, works great as an mp3 player, i prefer it to my iPod. All round it has lasted me longer than any of the new phone i have still use it. i just cant find enough appz for it thou
My opinion, if your phone has a software issue, update your ROM version, i updated mine to the latest and so far no issues
My Opinion; Great Phone HTC, Well done

to be honest.ive never read an opinion on gsm arena that speaks good about a phone.if deciding to buy a phone dont read these opinions cause it will only put you down.if you like a phone go buy it and and find out for your self.hopes this helps anyone in search of a phone.

To all the users using this phone and finding difficulties this is my experience from my last
months of usage:
1) This is a Windows Mobile smartphone (Nontouch) and requires customisation and tweaking to work to your fullest satisfaction. This phone is not for "Buy and forget" sort of people. This requires nurturing & fiddling. So if you dont love to fiddle with your phone don't buy this phone or rather any Windows Mobile. For those people there are many other non smart phones availlable.
2) Once you tweak it - flash with customised firmwares (ROMS) you will love this phone. But mind you - flashing may void your warranty and may brick your phone also. Don't blame me for that.
3) In fact the phone was initially launched with WM 5.0 and my phone now runs WM 6.5 customised ROM very smoothly. Visit www.xda-developers.com, go to forum and open "VOX" page for many threads on this phone. Read them understand your phone and then customise it.
4) For using this phone you have to understand the phone also. In windows mobile, the softwares are not always closed when you shut them off. In fact they hide themeselves in the background and keep consuming RAM. so the user has to keep a watch on the background running programmes through TAskmanager. These are a few tips to use this andd in general any Windows Mobile phones.
There are a lot of URLs on Windows Mobile. Go and read them before buying Windows Phone. These are smartphones to be smartly used by smart persons!
By the way the only weak point I have found in this phone and in general for almost all HTC phones is - BATTERY LIFE IS VERY POOR. In fact the more you use GPRS and WiFI it consumes more power. My battery sometimes gets drained in 12 hours. But its easy to easy to charge. Connect it to usb port and it gets charged. Moreover extended batteries are also avaialble if user requires prolonged batteery life. www.megacapacty.com is a good alce to get your batteries.
Thanks.

I have just bought the phone and reading all the negetive feed back about the phone makes me think twice about keeping it. I must say it is the must cute phone I seen. I truely hope the negetive imput does not turn out to be true. But my honest opinion is people like to blow every situation out order. Thanks

Hi,I'm from South Africa and have my HTC S710 since End december 2008, all functions are great, yet, when I install Java Apps like NFS Undercover it doesn work except for just opening the in-game menu, after that it bombs out. I'd say 90% of the games I install doesnt work. The GPS I've downloaded (Leaf.com) seems to work perfectly, other than the faults I encountered. Is there anything I can do to somehow maybe switch the settings, e.g. to rectify this problem?

I got the phone the beginning of may Its been running really slow and now several buttons don't work. Unluckily our carrier doesn't have a warranty on it so i now have to wait a month for my protection plan for it to even be looked at. It runs very slow. It's a nice phone, both my dad and sister have one and they both love it. I just got unlucky with mine. It's definatly not my favorite phone, but if it works, and keeps working it would be a nice phone.
