I have had this phone for half a year (6 months)

so far its been great...slightly slow when putting it on to the qwerty mode but otherwise everything is great.

JUST TO CLEAR THINGS UP... it DOES have GPS which you can download. I got it from google maps and it locates position without internet. This comes with directions and traffic.

Its a great phone just got to know how to use it.

I think this is a great bussnis phone at a budget price, it has a full Qwery keybord, wi-fi and all the mod cons, if you are a small bussnis or just want a phone with a lot of windows based compatiabilaty this is a nice choice, however with all great phones there are a few draw backs, the phone is running mobile windows 6 and is there for rather slow, to browse it's functions, the screen is rather close to the protective screen, and thus leaving in a back pocket or under any wait could reult in the screen braking (first hand exspirence of this) the wifi and browsing like a lot of smart phones and symbion based is not compaiblw with all web sites as it's flash software is a little dated, but for the average person this phone is great, a good competiter to the blackberry

Anion123, 11 Dec 2008how does the S710 compare to the Nokia E71?which is better?Symbian is considered a more stable OS than WM. But I have been using my set for more than one year and yet to find a problem. Plus as far as I can say about Vox, there is a dedicated forum just to help us in case we need any help (see my previous post) - manufacturer supports, well be the less said the better. Plus if you are planning for third party apps - WM has a much larger database compared to Symbian. And NO there is no virus threat to WM platform. Also Nokia phones normally do not allow you to install unsigned apps, which you can bypass if you know how in WM platform.
If you don't have any preference as such, I think you can go for S710 since its more compact in design. But there is an issue with Vox (S710), which I don't know why everybody misses out - the rubber covers expand over time and they later on don't fit in the chambers they are supposed to protect. But that I don't think is reason enough.

Don't impatient, since it is a WM smartphone, it doesn't allow your operators to save the network settings in your phone. Please try the configuration wizard in Programs. That should solve your issue - hopefully. Anyway, there is no point blaming the largest manufacturer of enterprise devices ;) (imate, O2, Xpera X1 are also manufactured by HTC). If your problem persists go for a hard reset after backing you your contacts. if you still have problem, visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=358. This is a free forum dedicated to HTC S710 aka Vox Users.
