If you look at Vista on a normal PC, it can use external memory as RAM memory, so maybe the Shift can reed the SD card the same way.
I sure hope so because if it can't then it indeed will be to slow.

I look at the video again. It took 3 min to the login screen.........from resume (guessing hibernation mode) NOT boot. Better hope Vista doesn't crash.

This thing is so underpower for Vista and people are drooling over this? This config is perfect for Window Mobile but definately NOT Vista.

No GPS hmmhh. 30 mm thick hmmmh. No 802.11 n hmmh. Older than what ever 1.2 MP videocall camera hmmh (5Mpix is must for new PDA/phones, takes same space than 1.2 but comes with autofocus and 30 frames /sec video). Otherwise not a bad but because of above deficiencies, not my gadged. Waiting HCH Shift PLUS (= with above boosts)

You built an entire Kick A#% phone into the UMP/tablet/laptop, gave it super fast internet and disabled the voice feature on the phone! 1)Who's idea was that? 2)Which hacker will be first to make this a usable all-in-one device?

From a computer perspective, well done! This is the tiniest laptop on the planet.
From a phone perspective I would struggle to carry it with me, it's a strictly business only device.
There's a good alternative though: TOSHIBA G900.
Same size screen (800 x 480), Windows Mobile OS and wi-fi. Slide-out keyboard and 3x smaller than the "Shift".

With regard to the future HTC Shift using HSDPA, does this means that there is a SIM slot for me to insert a sim card working on my 3.5G network ? I mean is the machine coming unlocked and sim-free ?
