for those that want 3g turned off (battery life will improve, but you'll lose your connection speed!)
start, settngs, phone, band, choose gsm instead of auto on the top drop down. If you've got euro/asian device in the americas, the 3g's not much use to you as it doesn't have the right hardware for you..

BTW, I started using the stylus all the time with this phone, and that actually works much better for me than using my finger. Pulling the stylus out wakes up the phone, so it's not really a hassle or an extra step. You also keep the screen free from fingerprint smudge. Using the stylus is also more precise than using your fingers, most especially in text messaging. With the stylus, you can comfortably utilize the full keyboard option in typing messages. I'm used to using the stylus in only a couple of days, and I find it much effortless than using my fingers, because really, 2.8 is not big enough for a full touchscreen phone, and I think that is why they provided the stylus in anticipation of that, and it's not bad at all.

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2008I can totally relate to you. I felt the same way with this... moreThanks for your tip, I will try to use it one more week before selling it on Ebay, and meanwhile I will keep in the other pocket the D900, to use it if the HTC will run out of battery. (Can't find extra batteries for the Touch Diamond in the stores yet). I don't know yet if I got a good phone with a faulty battery, or if a bought a device too ahead of its time for the batteries we have today.
At the present time to me, compared to cars, it's like having a Porsche with a 2 gallons fuel tank capacity ;-)

Mark, 15 Jun 2008I bough this Touch Diamond phone-pda a couple of days ago, ... moreI can totally relate to you. I felt the same way with this phone on the first week. Most especially that we replaced competitive phones with this phone to begin with. I had the N95 8gb. I thought that I made the wrong decision, but after using and getting to know this phone better, I'm really liking it now, and I'm starting to feel that I din't make the wrong choice, but the right one. There's always an adjustment phase when changing phones, especially when you are replacing another good phone w/ it (like in our case). Give it a little more time. As for the battery life, I've noticed that it's improving after using it more and more. Also, it is impressive that you can get a full charge after only 30 minutes of charging it. That's the fastest I've seen on any phone.

Rafieian, 15 Jun 2008It`s a good phone I think,,, but i have a question: which ... moreTo answer your question. I own this phone and it is quite a performer. But I have never seen the i900 in action yet, but based on their specs alone, the HTC Diamond should be the better phone. Though the i900 may offer some better features like bigger internal memory and a bigger screen, but to most people, 4 gb is more than enough. I've only used less than 1gb of my 4 gb. As for the screen, i900 may brag of its 3.2 display, but does it really make use of the full screen when you view pics and videos? The Diamond utilizes its full 2.8 display when viewing pics & vids. Also, the Diamond has a significantly better screen display resolution and quality than the i900. I don't really see anything from the i900 that is significantly better than the Diamond except for the internal card memory. As for the build, the diamond uses tempered glass for its screen, & its frame is made of metal, while the i900 is mostly plastic, same with its screen, so you are likely to scratch the i900's display eventually, while the Diamond's screen will stay glossy and scratch-free as it is for as long as you don't abuse it. So again, the Diamond is significantly better built than the i900. Though I still think it's a tad overpriced. It should be sold for $650 instead of $785. But I would discourage you to buy the Diamond if a large memory is essential for you. If that's the case the Diamond is out of the question between the two phones.
