SDM, 28 May 2009which registry editor did you use to tweak the settings? ca... moreinstead of registry editor, i downloaded an application called 'DIAMOND TWEAKS'. GOOGLE IT, U LL GET IT. as far as i remember it was on xda forum.. i do not ve to edit registry.. the said progam takes care of all that and u can reverse changes the same simple way like regular phone settings but for the fact that this ong gives to an elaborate menu

My HTC rom version is 1.93.401.2. Ive tried to upgrade using ROM provided from the HTC worldwide website without success, always brings an error befor completion. Please help! to which ROM version should i upgrade?

htc diamond model available in india does not have sec camera since it'll be long before we start using this facility. diamond available in other countries do have sec camera.

HTC Touch Diamond does not have a secondary camera for video confrencing. In the pic shon at yr site also no camera on the front panel is noticed. The spec, I think, is for HTC Touch Diamond2 or pro.

did the following modifications and the phone works like a charm... i know most people wont break their head just for a phone... lol.. but this is more than a phone actually its a pocket pc which also has a phone, i guess. but if u want just a phone which does the required things out of box MOTO or SE phones would do. this is for someone familiar with windows or willing to get familiar with it
1. Installed diamond tweaks
- enabled audio booster
- enabled scrolling with touch wheel for contacts and phone
- enabled power save mode
- assigned right soft key to contacts
There are lots more u can do with this program
2. Added settings +
- enabled standard messaging as opposed to default threaded messaging in windows 6.1
3. Added following hot fixes for following bugs (downloaded from HTC India website)
- grayed out repeat reminder option
- audio skipping
- mode pop up on slowly plugging ac charger
4. Installed a program allowing the assigning of specific ring tone to each category in contacts
5. Enabled pop up menu on screen when alarm rings (to dismiss or snooze alarm)
- Sounds < sounds & notifications < notifications < reminders < enable on screen menu
6. Installed hot fix from Microsoft for bug on windows 6.1 pertaining to outgoing e mail thru pop3 account.

SDM, 21 May 2009can you tell your version of ROM? I recently purchased one ... moremine is 1.93.720.2 too. i did download the 101mb file for rom upgrade 1.93.720.4 but ve not yet upgraded my phone... the newer version has audio booster (music equilizer) enabled even without headset but that u can manage by the several tweaks available online. also it seems to solve some issues with audio and video playback... screen backlight can too be configured. I DONT THINK ITS WORTH T

Hi my Friends,
I have one HTC Diamond and I hates my phone. I am very frustated. I can says that HTC Diamond was the worst phone that I had in all my life. The main problem is the Windows Mobile, it consumes all phone resurces and the Radio with the 3G is very weak. Before buying this phone, I recommends you to talk who has one. I paid $960 USD for a new HTC Diamond... I am so stupid...

rajeev, 22 May 2009seems unlikely that u dont ve compact qwerty.. anyways u ma... morethanks i already tried the rom update from the site though. but im 100% sure the phone does not have compact qwerty its just not in the options for keyboards to choose from. but my rom version is 2.03 as it turns out. im happy with it, ive only had the phone for 3 days now and its amazing, there are some things i miss from symbian though like the option to choose between sim and phone view in contacts but im still learning as this is my first windows mobile phone.

lucian, 22 May 2009my diamond doesn't have compact qwwerty keyboard, can anyon... moreseems unlikely that u dont ve compact qwerty.. anyways u may go to htc worldwide website or htc site of ur country. look in support section. there is a recent rom available there. u need to enter ur mobile serial no.(sn- printed below battery) to see if u can download that rom update

my diamond doesn't have compact qwwerty keyboard, can anyone give me a link to a ROM download in english??? also when i transfer files using bluetooth they dont go to my bluetooth folder and i have my bluetooth share folder as the folder received items should go to.
