I have the same problem with the battery, hardly makes it through the day , it has the worst battery i used in a mobile so far , i charge it twice a day, and i dont use the browser not even the video or taking pictures just phone calls and emails, very dissapointed !!! the size of the screen is perfect i like it better than the iphone but the battery is a big issue for me.

Downloaded the program Advance Configuration and put all the options under Power Management to the recommended settings. The result is a great improvement in battery life. Recommend the program.

Well there sir I actually do know there is a larger battery available for the Diamond. I just don't believe that I should have to buy extras for my phone to work better, it just should be like that when I buy it.
Or maybe I'm jsut a little bit old fashioned...

Peter, 18 Oct 2008I've had three HTC Touch, Touch Dual and Diamond and the ba... morewell, i assume that u don't know there's an extended battery that 2x longer life (1800mAh,2000mAh), google it.
but u'll have to sacrifice it's sleekness factor.
so if u own this phone and really need long battery life, u must know that u have the OPTION !!

How can i transfer my contacts and other data from my old w880i SE to my new touch diamond?I already have saved all data to my pc via pc suite.All help is greatly appreciated...

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2008is it common for the battery life to be so short?I've had three HTC Touch, Touch Dual and Diamond and the battery in all of them is disapointing. I use them for work with maybe 1 hour conversation per day, read emails and check the agenda. I charge them at night and have to recharge during the day. I have 3G and bluetooh disabled. I would not recomend any of them for professional use.

Hi please help, i have the diamond and like it so far but can;t get my music to the mp3 trimmer. I have put on music through the windows media player from cd's and i can't transfer them to mp3 trimmer. Do i have to download them so they are in mp3 format and not from cd's? If so where do i go to download free mp3 music as all my music is itunes and can not transfer it to windows music. Please help as have lost it.

Have the MDA compact 4, love the phone - find the virtual keypadeasy touse in T9 and qwerty format. Phone canbea littlelaggy and it takes a while to make a call, wish it had the black background of diamond rather than the dreadful O2setup.

I've had my diamond for 2 months now and i have not had those problems? the battery life is dissapointing but my browser is speedy and on spot my phone has never dialed a number by its self and i dont care about the camera and barley use it except for the occasional on the spot pic. hmmm....? i'm surprised everyone has such bad things to say about this phone i finaly found a phone i like more than black berrys and the iphone

I've owned one of these for a few months, and when I got it, I thought it was the bees knees.
Now, I can't wait to throw into the nearest bin. Heres why:
- The camera quality is poor for a supposed "3.2 megapixel" camera
- The phone also throws the occasional (almost eceryday actually) hissy fits which cause it to automatically dial random numbers (and before you ask I have had it checked, the phone is in A1 order!!)
- The battery life is crap. I've had to charge mine at least twice a day with normal use. EG normal voice calls, occasional text.
- The iPhone look-alike browser, which is nowhere near as good as the actual thing.
There are a few good points to the HTC Diamond, but honestly in this man's opinion the bad far outweights the good.

Had it for one month. Nice design but very poor battery life. Needs to be charged two times a day if you talk more than 30 minutes, having bluetooth and 3g disconencted. I had previusoly HTC touch and HTC tocuh dual and it's common in all three models. Now I'm looking for a new smartphone running Windows mobile, but won't buy an htc anymore. Any suggestions?

David, 14 Oct 2008The one time I got my hands on this phone, the only drawbac... moreThe typing on the diamond is fine the the keyboard actualy is easy to hit cause the letters kind of enlarge though i use the phone keypad the t9 actually predicts correctly and there is a third party app that allows you to activate the accelometer in the text and email mode which is ok i prefer the upright text but i did just come from a bb curve

the sound quality from the speaker... is othign you like to know, I dont like it at all, and the camera is even worse!
but I love the product altogether
