Do go with these iphone freaks who mock Htc just because of rivalry . Touch Diamond is a real cool full in all respects , Perfect design ,good interface , And battery is not a big prob .
My Opinion : I u have sufficient money don't goo for any other phone ...BUY DIAMOND !!!!!!

Hi,
i have 2 questions if anyone knows:
1)Can i use the PocketPC Navigator app. on this phone
2)With the new 1.93 ROM, will i have Greek characters on my phone (not Greek menus just be able to write in Greek - Any users from Greece pls let me know)

Andy, 15 Aug 2008DO NOT GO IN FOR THIS MOBILE..... 1. Poor battery Life. ... moreIN my view this is a bundle phone. It is waste investing so much of money for such a waste moblie. Nokia 1650 model is better than Diamond of HTC.

Sam Halliday, 16 Aug 2008Great piece of hardware, but embarrassingly poor software t... morewell maybe the software is terrible for your purposes, but its fine for many other people... but its your opinion, but yes there are a few flaws, but nothing is ever perfect... many people were amazed with the new iphone 3g and new 2.0 and 2.1 software release but that only lead to more bugs on the phone... the touch diamond, has a few flaws like you mentioned on the opera browser, but the opera browser is a beta on the phone (better than internet explorer for a touch based phone)... another thing that you said its not customizable, well it is, all you need to get is a simple rom for it and you can customize anyway you'd like it (yes even the touchflo 3d)... there are many apps and roms for windows mobile phones to customize it the way you want it... and i agree with about getting google android on this phone, that would be awesome lol

Great piece of hardware, but embarrassingly poor software that is non-intuitive, lacking features and incredibly frustrating.
HTC have attempted to place an iPhone-like layer on top of Windows Mobile (they call it TouchFlo) which admittedly is an improvement, but it is still atrociously bad. It cannot be customised and often crashes.
This phone has 12 buttons on it, and being a touchscreen it really only needs 1, perhaps 2... the buttons are not configurable and don't appear to do anything in most situations. When they do, it's not what you would have expected. This is a serious design oversight that simply results in wasted screen real estate (the persistent task bar doesn't help matters).
The bundled Google Maps is very good, but could learn a lot from the iPhone's integration with other applications. The HTC layer on top of Opera basically cripples web browsing... the default entry mode assumes that you want to browse to a file on the file system rather than a webpage, i.e. type in "google.com" and it'll tell you it couldn't find a file by that name. Really really atrocious.
I could moan about Windows Mobile forever... it is really the most badly designed interface you could possibly imagine. 3 or 4 applications to take notes, none of them speaking to each other and none of them quite doing what you want, entire applications to change the volume (instead of this being a setting) and settings that are so complicated and hidden away that you'll want to beat your head against the wall. God help you if you ever make a spelling mistake and want to go back and correct it, text navigation is something they simply never even thought of.
Basically, this is a great phone that looks great, has lots of processing power, a good camera and GPS, but has been completely crippled with terrible software. I hope Google OS runs on this phone, because that could really be incredible.

update 1.93 rom fell too fast,only one problem is battery life when use wifi.

On my fifth day with this phone. Only worry i have is the battery which i have had to charge everyday maybe its a fault i only am experiencing. Otherwise the phone response generally is good, most impressed with the calendar sync since its my first windows mobile phone. Also like the subtle light ring alert on the joystick lets me know there is something received etc.
