Hi All,
you all must have read my posts earlier about me complaining about the battery for TD2. If not you can still read my previous complains.
As suggested by one of our frirnds's post here that i need to go back and give my TD2 to Service center and check that why my battery drains in 4-5 hrs.
here i am back with good news and smile on my face that i got my TD2 done with my battery problem solved.
One evening last week i gave my smartphone to service center and complained to faulty battery/battery draining to early. So they kept it for a day to check and test and asked me to call next day. i called next day to check the status and know what exactly is the problem. They said that battery is OK and problem is with hardware. So they said that they will replace the hardware (no charge as phone is still under warranty).
Then again next day i went to take my smartphone. With new hardware and it had Win 6.5 (earlier i had 6.1v). so i did self check my battery/hardware for two days and today i am writing this review.
I charged my smartphone and unplugged it at 9pm. so with few calls and few usage and standby i still had 50% battery at 9pm next day.
so in all i am now happy with my handset performance and i think its the best one in market as i can see by performance of this along with the exprience of enhanced TouchFLO 3D.

I think, yes ... the battery can't work miracles. You have to remember too that when you use GPS on any mobile phone, you are transmitting at full power and therefore using HUGE amounts of battery power.
It's handy to use GPS on a phone - VERY handy but maybe a better idea is to use a GPS system in your car. If you ride a motorcycle etc this won't really be an option but you may find it a better option if you're using a car for business rather than using your phone OR buy a car charger - I got mine with the phone when I bought it.
I used to own a Palm and I always had to 'terminate' background services coz all they did was clog up the phone memory and drain the battery.
As the user before said though, maybe you have a faulty battery. There was a time when you could buyer higher mAh batteries - is that possible with a HTC ?? I haven't checked as I haven't needed to.
Hope you get it sorted though ;)

I have tried several times for D/L WM6.5 from official site of HTC. But it failed because of the bad bandwidth for all the site the offered. I am wondering if you have any other suggestion for me to D/L it successfully?
Meanwhile, if I want to use the facebook on this device, are there any other applications should I further install?

Those of you with short battery lifetimes: assuming you have switched off auto-downloads, push email, etc., try a soft reset (power off then power on). I have an app (Telstra WhereIs Navigator, for GPS navigation) which seems to drain the battery fast even after I have closed it.
General observations:
- Wifi uses lots of power
- 3G/HSDPA and bluetooth use little power
- GPS I think uses lots of power (see above).
I have sometimes gone 2 days between recharging, but usually I recharge every night.

Yes definately upgrade to WM 6.5 if you still have 6.1, it works the same way, not slower or what so ever. I have worked with 6.1 on this device, and since a month I work with 6.5, and HTC Sence is upgraded as well with the 6.5 version.
Main disadvantage is not software related for me, but the battery cover and the camera do not fit perfectly, so there is always a lot of dust underneath the battery cover. I would say just clean it and get use to it.

jeepoy, 03 Jun 2010the phone is ok but the autonomy of the battery is about ma... more36h tops? Having to charge your TD2 every day/night?
That seems to be normal (to me, at least).
Most of us with 'performance' devices tend to charge them overnight, or have a small emergency power pack (e.g. a car charger) available for when the going gets really tough!
Similar devices on other platforms are no better, and often worse! iPhones, Nokias and Android devices all need charging daily if/whenever used to their full potential.
Good Luck with your phones!

Carlos, 03 Jun 2010I like the pda, good functions and aspect but... and there ... more @ Carlos: "On 9am i get 100%. On 7pm, without any call, all wifi comunications off, i get 25% :("
Strange. That desn't happen to me.
I've now left my TDiamond2 uncharged for about 26 hours and I've still got 54% battery. Of course I've all energy savings ON and all automatic downloads/connections OFF.
Today, I haven't used it, but yesterday, I've made two quick calls and updated Quick GPS and Weather via WiFi.
Whenever I use GPS then, YES, battery does go off really quickly.
As I've mentioned before, that is exactly why I've purchased a car charger for my phone.
@ AKKI: "Today morning(DD/MM/YY = 2/6/2010), i unplugged my cell at 7am. made 2-3 calls for around 1-2 mins, nothing other than that.
And then my battery drained down to 10% around 11am.
So you can see, could use only for 4-5hrs."
Try to get feedback from other users, but I still think you should go back to the shop where you've bought your phone, complain and ask for a replacement or a refund!
Anyway, are you sure you don't have your screen(s) turned on (lighted up) all the time?
Are you sure you don't have any programmes/ DATA connections constantly running (not closed) or even running from time to time on the background?
Did you turn off all automatic data download (Internet, Weather, etc)?
Please, verify any "hidden" automatic connections as those may be responsible for such a fast/abnormal usage of battery.
Best luck with your phones!
