Anyway, I would advise a "test drive": try to have it in your hands, even if only for a couple of minutes (like, in a shop).
Remember, newer phones are contantly coming out and that is what capitalists and large companies want you to feel:
Unsatisfied! Like you're always outdated and you could/should constantly be buying newer and better models.
If you play their game, you'll never be happy, no matter what you buy.
First of all: Do you REALLY need a new phone? if so,try before you buy, choose wisely and you will feel happy in the long run.

But a great value for money phone. No doubt about it!

An excelent phone. High quality screen, good headset and speaker quality. Over all, a big step from the 1st version!

I urge HTC peoples to supply an standard battery of 1500 mAh to its diamond2. as they have done & supplied to diamond (1340 mAh)in India. long lasting batteries are a good selling point of a phone...
D2 is a gre8t phone to have.
Htc pls be at par with Iphone & Android.... in specfications...

This phone worst problem is NOT its battery, although you can't deny it could use a better one.
It's a shame it hasn't got a standard audio jack.
You get to use 16-32 gb cards but you are stuck to adapters or HTC phones which are NOT suitable to listening to hi-fi music...
Now, that's a shame!

Maybe you should check settings or even consider replacing your unit.
One day normal usage, no more, that's certain.
So, expect to recharge it every night. I'm not deceiving anyone.
I can make/send and receive calls and messages and I even get to use local hotspots at lunch time.

The phone is god on features but pathetic on battery life and network. The talk time is around 1.5hrs (max) and stand by of 16 hours. HTC service replaced the phone after my 3rd complaint but the battery back up is a major issue. They claim to have improvised over diamond1 but thats not really the case.
As far as the network is concerned its fine outdoor but expect only half the strength of your nokia antenna (also the call drops are significantly higher than other phones.
Would not suggest anyone to waste his money.

Getting back to this phone.
I realy like it. I've purchased it with Route66 and it works brilliantly both as a PPC and as a personal GPS.
However, I DO miss a 3.5 jack.
Although I like my D2 a lot, if it's quality music you're interested in, do remember the lack of a 3.5 jack when you plan a phone's purchase!
After all, it's our money and their profit!!!
