Ann, 13 Apr 2009So how guys? do you think is make sense we spent much money... moreThe diamond 2 is better because of the larger screen, the memory card slot which was not available in the D1 also the higher cam the zooming bar and lots of new attractive things..

Diamond 2 has fixed the running battery, 5mp camera, Widescreen 0.4" more in size than the Diamond 1..

The Diamond 1 is alot prettier than the 2..

TG2 has larger screen size, larger memory because this already has card slot, and has better camera than TG1
looks much elegant than the previous.

Do you think Diamond 1 is bad? tell me the good things of diamond 1 and bad think.. compare to diamond 2.

The... moreI thought exactly the way you thought when i had the first Diamond about the Converter to 3.5mm usb to audio jack and the size thing and all.. But believe me once you use a larger screen to play around with windows mobile its allot easier to navigate with your fingers and not use the Stylus allot except for Drawing notes..
And i don't agree with the audio converter, i bought 3, the first was dead and gave me rough distorted sound, the next one i bought died in a week.. The third one is fine but the quality is very low compared to the usb.

Diamond 2 is a great phone, but its late with its hardware features out this year.

And about the 2 features on the D2, people -centric contacts and push internet is already out for the HD since a month now..

Diamond 1 was way advanced back then. Diamond 2 will have to catch up with the other phones..

The choice for a mobile phone is still a difficult one. There are so many good models...
Overall, HTC has made a very good model with this TD2. It is an alternative to Touch HD, for users that hate large and heavy phones. One of the success points in TD1 was that it was small and light. TD2 is still small and light, and this I consider an advantage (I keep my phone in my pocket, not in my bag...).
Touch HD has a stronger battery, but I'm not sure this means automatically longer usable time. Take into account that the larger the screen, the more power it consumes.
I'd love to see the 3.5mm jack in TD2, but it is not a big problem. You can get a USB to Jack converter for less than 5EUR. Anyway, I use bluetooth stereo headphones with my phones. No need to mess with cables...
I like that HTC has added 2 additional software features: people centric contacts and push internet. Nice and functional.
For the rest, the HD and TD2 are the same. Well, except the price. I'm not sure what price policy HTC has in different countries, but here in Europe, Touch HD remains significantly more expensive than TD2. I can buy them both today and I'll lose at least 130 EUR on Touch HD!
So, at this moment I prefer this TD2. I think I'll buy one these days...

When i bought it last summer and played around with it flashing cooked ROMs and adding third party apps; friends were really impressed of its capabilities in such a small sized device.. I'm always a big widesceen fan, That's why i sold it for the HD.. HTC Diamond's shape is still ahead of its time, allot prettier than the Diamond 2, In fact it feels like Diamond 2 should have came out before the first Diamond, The 3.2" Widescreen display could shut me up though.. :P...

Regarding the specs you found and similarities:
- HD has more Battery life
- Bigger screen
- Headphone jack
And trust me, It's so easy to navigate through files, folders, and applications while having this size of screen especially for windows mobile with the buttons, drop-down menus and scrolling bars.. The zooming bar in the Diamond 2 doesn't make any sense.. It took some of the screen size, maybe then it would be 3.3" or 3.4"..
And about the 3.5mm audio headphone jack, its not available in the Diamond2.. What else can i say? When you wait till may or June for this phone, you'll probably get news about upcoming phones later this year and you'll feel stuck with the Diamond 2, The upgrade for the phones will be way advanced.. At least being stuck with the HD better than that.. Cause the HD is better and cheaper plus Diamond2's whole software "ROM" is available for the HD now and is being updated every week, I installed it and i'm very happy with the new graphic interface..

In the end its all up to you, you find the Diamond's style better, maybe the camera is better too, i'm only trying to help the confused ones and all i'm doing is talking sense..
And its clearly obvious that the Diamond 2 isn't much of an upgrade and competitor to this years phones...

can diamon 2 be upgradete for windows 7 later and when i made compare with HD and 2 i fount no different except the size and screen, am i right ????

again i keep on asking because i live in Kuwait and Diamon 2 not yet in the market, i can wait till it come athorwise i will buy HD.

I enjoyed it, then sold it for the HD, i thought it was a screen thing for a little upgrade. But it turns out that the touch HD is worth it all.. Its just different, The Screen, The Battery life, the touch sensitive panel (Vibrates when touched)..
I hope i don't sell this phone in the end of this year, cause i know its upgradable to any upcoming windows versions.. I hope it'll be compatible with next years windows 7.0..
Ofcourse i think you should get the HD now rather than buy it later..
So i'd say either wait till the end of this year for an obvious upgrade, or go for the HD now.. and visit Duttythroy.com and i promise you, you won't be sorry for the surprises there...
