Just so you guys know, the Diamond 2 does have a 3.5mm jack and those complaining about the OS...any wimo device with a Windows button on it(like the diamond 2 has) will be able to upgrade to windows mobile 6.5 for free. So even tho it may ship with 6.1, you can get 6.5 once it drops.

Hopefully later this year HTC will make a come-back!

I use to love htc back when they use to put Sirf Star chipset GPS into their devices at least you had good phone + navigation for free. But now that they don't do that gps combined with bad camera photo quality plus the power hungry WM OS oh and lets not forget its not mulit media device meaning no good with music, photo or video and no flash whats the point of buying them anymore. just look at what nokia n97 and samsung HD is dishing out mmmmm yes htc i will wait for them.

I also think that this phone is going to flop.
It is not worthy of the diamond 2 title!
Most of the ppl preferred diamond over the rest of the windows mobile phones, mostly because of its reduced dimensions and the highly improved performance it showed, comapring to the older devices.
The new OS and the eye catcher 3D flo, were also had some major impact.
HTC with this has sacrificed diamond's most important advantage. The reduced size respecting the standards 10cm/5cm/1.5cm
The new diamond 2 belongs to the next size category of 11cm/6cm/2cm
At this second size category, the competition, from within (HTC) and other brands, already have some very very competitive models, performance wise. For the people who sacrificed that performance only because of the touch diamond was a very compact and functional winmo device, the diamond 2 is a step in the wrong direction and is rather a downgrade, than an upgrade... A downgrade to the dimensions/performance ratio is unacceptable!!
The advantages that the successor offers are insignificant!
The upgrade on CPU and RAM will have minimal impact on the performance, since they were originally designed for diamond 1 and it can cope as well anyway.
They dropped the 4GB internal memory, grave mistake, that will bring some practical disadvantages, cards are more likely to be corrupted or being unstable and they also suplimentary costs! Which was one of the major advantages diamond 1 had from the box!
Bigger screen and battery normally comes with a bigger device, if that was the priority, someone would rather prefer the touch pro or even HD variants.
They cannot justify the increased dimensions for the ones who asked for a non brick winmo device.
We have too many alternatives with big screens and better specs, but the touch diamond 1 is still the champion of reduced size/performance ratio...

I'm going to buy this HTC Touch Diamond2 but is there a ALBUM for Pocket PC Version 2.51 (Build 18676) ???
More than 3 years,I have been waiting for another Pocket PC from HTC that have "ALBUM" exactly the one that came with my O2 XdaII mini... Can Anyone out here guide me which PDA now have this "ALBUM" ?
While playing Video,It can Zoom-in & Zoom-Out and many more...
Can anyone in High Tech Computer Corp. in Taiwan HQ tell me why ALBUM for Pocket PC Version 2.51 (Build 18676)
such a Good Player (Better than Window Media Player) is not been continue in HTC new Pocket PC ???
Is it able to install this ALBUM into new HTC Pocket PC by extract out from O2 xdaII mini?
Or 'thru your HTC website download?

no i think it would be a FLOP, because those who got HTC TOUCH DIAMOND for good bucks, they wont give a look at this one... there are small updates like 3.2 to 5 mp bit big screen... BUT top of it OS is same...
so i guess only a few of HTC TOUCH DIAMOND users would see it as upgrade... where as i think it would be a waste until u see Mobile Windows 6.5 or 7
