Try wiping your service providers software off the phone and putting a clean install of windows mobile 6 on it. It should speed things up quite a lot. Careful you dont wipe anything you need from it tho, but im sure you will be able to get any extra software u need from the htc site

Its a great phone ! Its not slow ! I have both TYTN II and TOUCH DUAL and touch dual is much faster even if they have the same processor class... Also I would have loved it if it was all chrome like the middle of the housing :) Another great thing would have been instead of the vertical keyboard a orizontal keyboard like on tytn. Other then this its a great device, the operating system is much improved in terms of functionality.

I just recently got this phone after selling my HTC TYTN II on Ebay. For those of you that call this phone slow, keep in mind, the TYTN and the Touch Dual use the same processor 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM - Qualcomm MSM 7200, 400 MHz processor. I don't need wifi, so that wasn't an issue for me.
The TYTN is much heavier that the Touch Dual, and the Touch Dual is heavier than the Touch. As it should be, with the addition of the slide out keyboard. The TYTN is a great phone and may just be one of the best smart phones ever made, but it was a little too bulky for my taste. If you can't live without wifi or a qwerty keyboard, the Touch Dual isn't for you.

Don't Buy this phone or any other with Qualcomm MSMXXXX HTC has refused to develope proper drivers for the graphic processor built in which causes this phone to run at a substandard rate much lower than much older phones.

I am one that like handsets from HTC. HTC Touch Dual is one of my favorite, however it doesn't support Wi-Fi and FM Radio. I really would like to know much more about Touch Dual. Would GSMArena pls make a REVIEW of this prototype? Anyway, does anyone knows that "How is the sound quality of Touch Dual compare to other handsets? Pls reply to me as possible... Big Thanks...

Ok - so my S710 was very slow, but my Dual has improved on that issue. However the battery life sucks - needs an extra daily recharge to make it through the day. Keyboard backlight very poor and doesn't cover all keys. I am not getting the hang of the 20 key qwerty at all and tend to use the onscreen. Anyone else had issues with Windows Mobile 6 Contacts program losing data?

I had this phone the grand total of 15 days and hated every single one of them. the size, styling and feel are great. BUT...the keypad is a nightmare. the predictive text was terrible. processor was slow. camera is awful, no flash either on something so large. the touchflo is really good software but so many niggly things make it a terrible handset to use day to day.simple tasks like adding a new number...and another MAJOR annoyance, that the alarm function must have the phone on make noise. you cannot set the phone to silent and have an alarm on so should someone ring or text while you are TRYING to sleep, you will be woken. i am a student who wanted something just a bit different as an upgrade. business users this may be for you but for me it was without doubt the worst handset i have ever owned.

Ye, wats with the lack of wifi? wheres the point in a smart phone in 2008 without wifi. I mean even the W960i has wifi! and thats a music phone! apart from that seems a very nice smartphone, although i really cannot do with windows mobile, its quite a clunky interface...

i'm so disappointed, they recover the main disadvantage in the htc touch "no 3G", with another disadvantage "no wi-fi", i realy don't know why they don't want to put both of them in this phone

FYI
It has been confirmed, the Jap version (exact same thing) has WiFi :D I just asked my friend to send me one. The one thing "wrong" is it would also have Jap insert as well.

waiting for iPhoneME (TM) currently in the worx? HSPA as a surplus compared to the old, ActiveSync built-in (Apple embraces Intel now, so Windows is not an enemy any more) for all that really need it; the surface finally is not that delicate to fingerprints and, what a whopper, it is 3mm slimmer and 30 grams lighter, protos kinda feel like "touch"! Tough network provider glueing to be more intelligent (at least for some governments); general availability could be april - or so ;-)
