Does any of the current users of the phone know whether it's possible to run for example, PDF and Music player?
Actually if it's possible to run music player with everything and not suffer too much?

I love the phone thus far and will probably get it even if not...

I am not having joy with few things on this handset. 1. The battery does not survive the whole day
                2. The speaker is sometimes giving me issues, it keeps on breaking and not audible enough.
                3. The USB port for charging the battery, sheww, is not picking up the charger as it should. i need to put it in and out several times before it charges.
                4. The stylus pen does not fit well in it's slot.
                5. After 10 minutes on a voice call, it will heat up and burn my ear.

I think the design and OS features are kool though, but the hardware issues I am encountering with this thing is really irritating. Had it for a week but I am thinking of taking it back. I think there is no other fone that matches it but it is now taking me back to the days I used to use MPX200 (I did not enjoy it).

Is there a program to have the D-pad function as a optical trackpad like for the omnia? I like the mouse thing going on, makes it more like windows.

                      Good day all,

I want to know if this is true?
Does the WINMO slow down when you store stuff on the phone memory and not the memory card?

Does WINMO need the open space to Function properly?

                      Thanks,

I love the phone. And it's true that it has a few issues, but if you take the time to personalize this phone you can easily make up for whatever you find wrong with it. Of course memory and processor can't be aided, but your experience with the phone will change once you get those apps.

I learned to live with it, maybe others aren't so prepared to do so. Get an Omnia if it really bothers you, or a Touch Diamond.

But as far as rating the Touch Pro, I'd give it a 4/5.

Recently, I was given a chance to purchase the Touch Pro in the form of the AT&T Fuze. I was given the phone first and I was supposed to pay the next day. The night I got it and the afternoon afterwards, I spent the entire time just using the Touch Pro (foregoing sleep). Unfortunately, the purchase didn't pan out, but I'm glad it happened that way. It's kind of funny how things plays out sometimes and I learned a lot about myself while given the chance to use this phone.

To begin, I realize that I had no idea what I wanted in a phone. I'm the 'gadget lover' type and don't care much for design (so long as it has a QWERTY keyboard and feels comfortable), so I had always assume that the latest phone would make me happy. I realized how foolish I was in thinking this when I got my chance to use the Touch Pro. First off, I despise the black, sleek casing. It looks good in pictures, but when you use it, dear God, you get fingerprints everywhere. This seems obvious, but before I used it, I didn't realize the extent to which this would be a problem. I was cleaning the phone constantly. The obvious solution would be to put a protector around the phone, but I didn't like the idea of that. That's one lesson learned: Get a phone which doesn't get fingerprints easily.

Another lesson learned: Realize the potential pitfalls of your desire. As an owner of a QVGA smartphone (HTC 8525), one of my big desires has always been high res phones. This has since manifested itself into a desire for WVGA phones (such as Touch HD/Xperia X1), but the Touch Pro's VGA res also made me very happy. Web browsing and video watching on the Touch Pro was simply much better. Furthermore, a lot of applications became more usable, such as Opera Mobile. As it turns out, there was also plenty of problems in using software. The vast majority of apps seems to work fine, but the big problem lay in games, notably Java games. The majority of Java games were designed for 240x320 res and around there. A good amount of them also works fine on VGA res, but much didn't. Considering the sheer amount of Java games I play, I knew instantly this was going to be a huge downer. I should have prepare better for such a scenario.

Lastly, I would like to talk about one pitfall of the phone that I suspect many would not expect: Performance. The Touch Pro's specs is vastly superior to my 8525. My 8525 has 64MB of RAM compared to TP's 288MB and a 400MHZ processor compared to the TP's 528MHZ processor. As a computer geek too, I sort of have the concept of 'Better specs = Better performance' ingrained in me. This concept is true in just about all electronics, but as someone who is used to upgrading computers, it's more ingrained in me than most. So here's the problem: The Touch Pro's performance is not superior to the 8525. In fact, my judgement is that it is slightly faster in some cases, equal in most cases, and in some cases, even slower. I am not an isolated case either as I have looked this up and innumerable people discovered the exact same thing.

If you research it too, you will soon realize the problem: It's the Qualcomm processor that is the problem. You see, my current phone's processor is a Samsung processor, but the Touch Pro uses a Qualcomm processor. The whole issue, which has been present for years is that the Qualcomm processor apparently lacks the proper acceleration drivers to make the processor work properly; The result is slower performance. Now, the Touch Pro's RAM is much larger, but RAM only determines mulitasking capabilities; the processor is the true performance increaser. This is why this is lack of superior performance as the processing power difference between the Touch Pro and the 8525 is only 128MHZ; not a big enough difference in clockrate to negate the issue of lack of drivers.

Of course, I now try to look up phones which doesn't use Qualcomm processors, but that's a huge problem. I largely prefer HTC (which all uses Qualcomm processors), so I'm very limited. Hopefully, the future Qualcomm processors won't have this problem anymore, but considering how long this problem has existed, I'm somewhat doubtful. Well, just have to girn, and bear it sometimes. And pray to God that some other company forces Qualcomm out of business soon too, I suppose.

Ultimately, let me get something out of the way: The Touch Pro is not truly a bad phone. As I said, it has a very impressive resolution (with only WVGA phones beating it), and it does look very sleek, though the sleekness requires high cleaning maintenance. The performance, for what it's worth, is also not completely bad. It works most of the time and will be completely fine for most people. If you're looking for a good phone with great specs and GPS, I would think the Touch Pro is pretty good. it's also older now and will be cheaper than most other HTC phones, which all have largely the same specs anyway. It's a good trade off.

I, on the other hand, simply didn't like the phone.
