hey all, i bought my htc pro a week ago as an addition to my existing n95. this is my first ever windows mobile device and i've expected a certain extent of "inconveniences" to adapt to the os (i've been using symbian phones this whole while). all in all, i am still exploring windows mobile but as of now, i don't think i have any main issues with the os. i like to think that it's a matter of preference. symbian can appear to be too simplistic in nature to some, yet at the same time windows mobile can frustrate some. my main concerns with htc touch pro is the sound (not loud and crisp enough for my liking) and the battery life (too short-lived. hehe.) aside from that - it's a good phone. and btw, i don't think i looks cheap. and i like the fact that its heavier than the average rest.

I bought this phone one week ago, and so far i am pretty satisfied, but still i'm not sure if i made the right choice choosing 'touch pro' over the 'diamond'. Biggest disadvantages in my opinion are short battery life and the weight of the phone. Everything else is perfect.

I have compared this unit to the Samsung Omnia. By far the Omina is a better unit and very realistic in price to buy out right. Eg 5 meg pix camera,vs 3 meg pix camera. Louder speaker, lighter. $1200 AUD versus $700 AUD, I know where I will be placing my investment. Come down in price HTC and you may capture the market share! For $1200 AUD today one can buy a mini HP laptop!

              Hello all,
This phone will be released in the US as the AT&T Fuze in late Oct. AT&T Release Sheet says Oct.23 but I wouldnt get my hope up since they usually run late.
The price hasn't been released but I'm guessing $200-299 with a 2 year contract.
It will a US 3G model that has been repatched by AT&T to have CV (AT&T Cellular Video).
ALso, yes its a fast phone and battery life is pretty good. After install Gigs worth of apps and video it still runs smoother then any other HTC phone in the market. Trust me I now have a HTC Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Cruise, N95 8gb. The touch pro runs the smoothest.

I have just bought a Touch Pro after reading the hype. I previously owned a Nokia E70 for 2 years.
I am going blind just trying to read the microscopic characters on the Pro Screen. I went into the setting and turned everything up to "large". Still awful to look at. The point in squashing everything in so it is so small it is no longer ledgible??? Stupid!
After using the Nokia S60 V3 OS, the Microsoft Windows OS just looks like a primitive mess to me. So not fun and so not intuitive.
Not happy. Will never by a windows mobile device again.
Buy a Nokia. You won't know yourself.
Is there a way to rip out the OS on the Pro and install something good??

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Basically, you do not understand me. You have to close all open application once you are done.

Do not complain about the electricity bill if you are leaving the lights open day and night.

                    Hope it is clear.

dave, 30 Sep 2008hi HTC user's, does anyone know how to improve the battery ... moreDave,
From my experience you can do the followings:
1- Do not keep any running programs, always close using the task manager.
2- Do not turn up the volume too much.
3- Keep the screen in low brightness.
4- Do not fully drain the battery.
5- Keep the e-mail push off if you do not need it.
6- Disable the HSPUA, and the HSDPA off if you do not need them.
7- Automatic screen switch off after 1 min or less.
8- The most important thing is you do not keep an audio track paused, this will simply drain the battery very quickly. You have to keep the audio track in unplayed mode where you see the couter as 0:00. It is better also to keep the active track saved in the phone memory instead of the storage card.
Other stuff like bluetooth or wifi should be turned off when not used.

                        Hope this help.

hi HTC user's, does anyone know how to improve the battery life or is there any software/firmware (whatever u call it, as long as u would not suggest to buy a stronger battery) that will help improve it's life ?

                            thank you !!!

I have HTC Touch PRO ...its looks like my son's plastic toys... HTC should really look on to other phones from other companies like Nokia who uses metal too instead of plastic... Plastic makes phones look cheap... what happened to old XDA wich were made of aluminium ? They were great!

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2008if you look for good UI experience, namely, quick response,... moreYou are right, the Touch Pro is a business device in the first place with multimedia capability. It is based on windows mobile, and we all know that Mac OS is better in the interface than windows.

I feel that the multimedia in this phone is more than enough for me as long as the set is capable of doing some other stuff like video call, video recording, copy and paste, MMS. Also note that there are a lot of doubt on the iphone security relating to exchange.

If you need a better mutimedia than in the PRO go for the iphone.

I can buy this iphone for my wife, my kid but not for me.

There is a big of difference between Mistubishi evolution and Galant.
