I actually have a problem with TYTNII :
· It doesn’t make active sync
· It is not detected by computers when connected through the USB cable, although it charges through the USB charger
· I supposed the problem should be in software ( virus caused problem for ex. )
· I was told that I need to change the USB and this will solve the problem ( 180 egyptian pounds )
· Finally I was told that the mobile needs a new motherboard ( 2365 egyptian pounds ) , and I rejected the offer
After receiving the phone back I found the following :
It doesn’t detect or doesn’t maintain network ( mobinil for ex. ) , so I cant make or receive calls and I cant go through the net when trying to connect through service provider ( mobinil )
However :
· I can use the bluetooth from either side
· I can use the cam , calendar
· I can use the net through WiLan ( from DSL ) and browse and download freely, and send and receive E-mails
· I can use most of settings on the phone except active sync, and network detection
So I wonder where is the problem with all these functions !!!! and why the phone doesn’t detect the network

I've been using this phone for more than a year now and my opinion is very positive. I think it's a great phone for business people who also spend a lot of time in traffic for their work. Like account managers, sales managers, etc. This phone just has everything. Also I must say that the windows mobile version is very stable. The battery is very powerful, when you just use it for text messages it will be up to 4 days. When you call al lot this is 2 days, which for a smartphone is very good. I'am u student, and I don't recommend it to other students. This phone is very big. Some of my friends call it a mealbox. So it's not comfortable in your pants or wherever you put it.
Kind regards
Jeroen

Think if it as a vehicle that you always wanted to buy: What features do you want in the phone; are you going to maximize its usage like the use of its spreadsheet, etc. It's internal GPS comes in handy for me as I travel a lot and you can even upload pictures in realtime to share to the world ( GEO Terrestrial for example). Some phones have it too but this baby has internal GPS, not GPS-assisted which carriers charge for extra...

@Unsatisfied HTC User
I've had this phone for over 18 months and am very experienced with Phones. 1st, Have you checked your SIM card coz that could be the Main Source of the problems with NO SIM CARD INSERTED, and always switch your phone off when inserting or removing the SIM from the TYTN II, I'd try another SIM card and see if that solves the problem. 2nd The screen is not that sensitive and DOES require some pressure on it at times, so I guess you've really been pressing way too hard on the screen to break it. As for repairs have you tried to contact HTC to find your Local Repair Center, many local Mobile Phone shops don't know how to repair these phones as they are pretty complicated due mainly because of the tilt to access the qwerty keyboard.

Listen to me everyone on earth. Save your MONEY!!! Do not purchase this phone. I had my htc less than a year and spent $650.00 for it. At first everything was fine, it has some really nice features about it but then it happened. First things first, you have to keep it in it's case because the LCD screen is very fragile, the lest amount of pressure applied, will easily break it. I had to replace my screen and it ran me into $160.00. US DOLLARS
The next issue is with the sim card. Once the sim card is in, dont ever take it out unless your purchasing a new phone. I had to take my sim card out for a slight moment and when I placed it back, it kept saying NO SIM...PLEASE INSERT SIM! EVENTHOUGH THE SIM CARD WAS IN ALL ALONG. This has been going on for 4 months now and its still saying the same thing!!!
I took it to various cell phone repair stores and no one was able to fix it. Every where I called, and went No one was able to fix it. Now am stuck with a big brick of a phone and cant even use it.
Like I said before for,the typical business person,it has alot of cool features but other than that there's nothing else to it. My advice to you is be careful of where you purchase this phone and ensure that it's an orginal and not refurbished, because if this is how the original acts imagine a refurbished phone.
P.S. the games suck too!!
