I loved this phone when I first got it but it has one very serious drawback. Its battery life is the wost of any phoen I've ever had. Yeah, it's an 'office on the go' but what's the good of that if you're on the go and don't have access to a USB or plug point to recharge it? The internet access is very second rate too. If only the Nokia E90 had Outlook email and (maybe) touch screen, it would blow this phone away... maybe they should try breeding both - take bits from each and you'd have the perfect business phone.

I thought this was going to a great phone.
However, the backlight goes out after 10 seconds, so trying to retreive voice mail and phone key pad function is worthless. I contacted HTC, they said they are aware of this, but have no plans to change it and there is no fix. If you want a phone easy to use, don't buy this one. Very disappointed about this problem for $ 800.

Anybody recommend something better that is MS OS and quad band?

After having my E90 nicked (on a business trip to South Africa), my dealer offered me this phone.Well on paper looks great but in reality is a pain to use and the screen quality is nowhere near the E90. I returne it last friday and now I have to wait 10 days for a E90.

yeah.... you can use you finger!!!!! for those people who talk trash about this device.... if you want something to play game or watch youtube with than get a N95 or something, but if you are a student or business person than this is a great PPC or PDA device.

Can you use the touch screen without the stylus to dial a number, for example, your fingers?

I have owned and used the HTC Ty TN II for 7 months, and after reading all the positive reviews prior to the purchase, I have to admit that I am very dissappointed with this handset's performance. It is heavy, and cumbersome to use; the screen locks up in between operations and must be turned on and off to return to the main menu. The screen is impossible to read outdoors. The Windows Mobile software, in particular the outlook/email software is inadeqate. i will be returning to the Blackberry platform.

Hi, I'd just like to say to all of you who have been disapointed by the multimedia side of the phone.

HTC is before all PDA/SMartPhone with media possibilities, but not in anycase a TOY like the Nokia N95. So if you want to work with some fun on the side, buy HTC, if you want, vidéo, GAMES, and other don't buy phones for active people !!!

I sell phones, I have my HTC TYTN II great phone for work, great GPS chip, my batterie life doesn't die after a day, and my video playback is a correct quality for a PHONE !!!

You want a great media phone buy Nokia N95 great video playback, great camera, ngage for games, but still a poor battery !!!

you want to play games buy a nintendo DS or a PSP, you want great picture quality buy a realy camera.

Lol these are juste phones loool

I have a TyTNII, and I'm really, really dissapointed. Heavy wieght 190 grms Also I was expecting a phone I could watch movies on and take pictures with. This phone has absolutely CRAPPY video playback and the camera takes 5 seconds to take a picture. HTC promised us a phone with great multimedia capability, and delivers a slow brick without any drivers at all. In addition, the battery life is very low. It dies in a day. I suspect this has something to do with missing drivers aswell, since the processor has to do everything in software. My advice: Stay away!

in response to the person who wrote this below--thanks for trying to help me--when i inserted the sim card for the first time it asked me if i wanted to use stc, i said ok, but i never recieved any sms helping me to set up the phone, i do have the 3 sim cards offered by aljawal and they are all active--i don;t know if this could have effected it? the aljawal people tell me that they have no settings for this phone and that answer came after consulting 5 technicians and the manager! this is my email address, i don;t see yours for me to email u, thanks in advance .

Go to setting/connections/connection setup:select Saudi arabia as country and STC as operator.usually your phone will get auto confifuration, this what happen to my device when i put Al Jawwal SIM inside it, i got few SMS for SMS and MMS settings.i tried to send you mail but your e-mail address is not correct, check it please and modify it so i will try to help you faster by mails because i'm not checking this forum regularly.

Make sure you read up on http://www.htcclassaction.org/

Research before you buy, this product does not come with drivers to allow you to use most games, or video intensive software products. Nice processor, but all that's good for is faster battery draining and overworking/overheating because it doesn't use the video chip properly

Hi, my LCD cracked by placing it on carpet. Support stated it won't be warranteed, that the LCD cracked from behind. I escallated the issue and HTC won't budge, same song and dance. I litterally didn't do anything but put my phone on the floor, pick it up a moment later, tried to use it and found the LCD busted/all scrambled. This is the 2nd LCD from HTC that has cracked on me - each time they blame me instead of recalling the phone due to lack of stability, manufacturer defect, etc. I highly recommend that anyone considering an HTC phone seriously consider other vendors based on support and warrantee. The $800 phone has cost me over $1K...
                                        HTC bites!
