6.7 inch screen is too small?
What are you comparing it against exactly?
Although, I do agree the battery standby is turning out too less... 86 hours is.. let's just say, I'm expecting some sort of error, or its due to that AI learning that happens initially.

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2023You are business guy and still need carrier deal to get pho... moreLike with every other UI regardless of a brand.
And yes i am a bussiness guy thats why i use carrier to buy a phone because it offers me avesome price and i hvae money for something else.
Since i dislike to throw money out of the window is always for me a better way to buy something on a contract where i pay 16 euros for next 2 years. My current Moto 40 edge pro. Same way i got my xiaomi Mi 11 lite i paid 12 euros a month rest been covered by my monthly plan which is 37 euros.
Paying instantly 789 eur for a phone price at my carrier is a no for me if this is much cheaper way since i pay 37 just a phone bill unlimited calls and text and 40GB data and without anything else.
Hope you understands.
Even if i wanted i could get something like Hymalayan version of Metavertu.
But i am not that kind of guy who must have everything he can afford.

I am sure you can afford unlocked device and flagship ones.
Also, could have gotten simpler phone without any IP.
Person that does not like modified UIs, should never use one.
MiUI is exactly what you bash.
Too much modified, laggy and bloated.

What is your suggestion other than a holepunch camera? A notch? Bigger bezels?

Samsung wasn't at all that big, and Nokia lost market share in large numbers. It was a different time, Windows Mobile, Symbian on Nokia and Sony Ericsson, dumbphones, special niche camera phones, iPhones and the early Androids. Now you have either iOS or Android. Boring.

It also explains a lot, it's kind of like what happened to nokia when Microsoft bought them out.
Anyway thanks

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2023Does anyone remember the HTC rose, it had a slide out keybo... moreIn 2017, Google had acquired most of HTC's design team (some 2000 employees), for 1.1 Billion USD.
So, there's that. For the larger part of the last decade, HTC's best people have been employed by Google and designing Pixel phones.
R&D takes quite a lot of manpower, so HTC would need to hire a lot of highly qualified staff, which in turn would take a lot of money.
Moreover, the smartphone market is widely saturated and in a worldwide decline.
As long as you don't have a truly disruptive technology at hand, or billions of Dollars for marketing, there's literally zero chance to sucessfully reenter the market.
Which truly is a pity, especially in terms of HTC!

For ... moreDoes anyone remember the HTC rose, it had a slide out keyboard and an abstract looking back cover, I think that was possibly the best looking phone of all time, of course it was before android and was running Windows mobile, but I downloaded an emulators on it and played sonic all day when everyone one else was stuck with java games .
I still believe in htc and think they can be great again, and I think now's the time as people are looking for an alternative to all the chinese scare phones out there, but the top rated phones on the market give you a good user experience ie: not stock android, (I'm not talking about bloatware but the lack of features ), htc need to march to their own beat again, and make their phones more unique .

Later, HTC brought the M7 with fabulous front facing stereo speakers. But this was it. I think they had a change of the CEO and the new one never actually cared to keep the company at the forefront if innovation, so Google purchased a good chunk lf HTC.

HTC was the leader in early smartphone days. I had a flagship version, zero problems. It however could not reduce its costs to compete in over all market. Google bought HTC assets and I think its still producing its Pixel phones in the old HTC facilities. Google However has controlled costs some how, much better. Its likely due to its massive marketing campaigns and its perceived quality improvements. Google has very little bloatware, while old HTC did not....but that was a very long time ago. Android on old HTC flagships was around Android 5, I don't remember. I gave my M8 to a farm boy and he destroyed on the farm some how...LOL.

IQ200, 28 Jul 2023You mean, not important to you. But it is important to many... moreWell its my opinion but honestl why to have and use wireless charging which most phones have set at 5 maybe up to 15W when cable charging on most chinese devices is at least 67W which is 5 times faster.
This have no clue.
IPXX rating is the same as long as no company does not include water and dust damage into the warranty whether you have or dont have IPXX rating does not matter.
Any waterproof case does a lot more tricks for way less.
Thus to my honest opinion you can agree or you cant agree those are acual facts which you and anyone else cannot deny.
Also with you a marvellous day my friend.

Gimmick for you. Yes.
For other people it's not. But that's not the point. The point is that you're trying too hard to deffend your personal favorites and bash all the other brands.
Thank you once again for sharing your opinion. Not a fact. Get it Captain? It's only your opinion.

Cable, charger, sim tray tool and case.
U23 Pro has way better performance, way better battery life.
No issues with heat.
Mi 13 lite does worse than phones with 778.
Htc uses stock android you like so much (but took years to start using 🤭).
