It also explains a lot, it's kind of like what happened to nokia when Microsoft bought them out.

Anyway thanks

So, there's that. For the larger part of the last decade, HTC's best people have been employed by Google and designing Pixel phones.
R&D takes quite a lot of manpower, so HTC would need to hire a lot of highly qualified staff, which in turn would take a lot of money.
Moreover, the smartphone market is widely saturated and in a worldwide decline.
As long as you don't have a truly disruptive technology at hand, or billions of Dollars for marketing, there's literally zero chance to sucessfully reenter the market.

Which truly is a pity, especially in terms of HTC!

I still believe in htc and think they can be great again, and I think now's the time as people are looking for an alternative to all the chinese scare phones out there, but the top rated phones on the market give you a good user experience ie: not stock android, (I'm not talking about bloatware but the lack of features ), htc need to march to their own beat again, and make their phones more unique .

Later, HTC brought the M7 with fabulous front facing stereo speakers. But this was it. I think they had a change of the CEO and the new one never actually cared to keep the company at the forefront if innovation, so Google purchased a good chunk lf HTC.

HTC was the leader in early smartphone days. I had a flagship version, zero problems. It however could not reduce its costs to compete in over all market. Google bought HTC assets and I think its still producing its Pixel phones in the old HTC facilities. Google However has controlled costs some how, much better. Its likely due to its massive marketing campaigns and its perceived quality improvements. Google has very little bloatware, while old HTC did not....but that was a very long time ago. Android on old HTC flagships was around Android 5, I don't remember. I gave my M8 to a farm boy and he destroyed on the farm some how...LOL.

IQ200, 28 Jul 2023You mean, not important to you. But it is important to many... moreWell its my opinion but honestl why to have and use wireless charging which most phones have set at 5 maybe up to 15W when cable charging on most chinese devices is at least 67W which is 5 times faster.
            This have no clue.
IPXX rating is the same as long as no company does not include water and dust damage into the warranty whether you have or dont have IPXX rating does not matter.
Any waterproof case does a lot more tricks for way less.
Thus to my honest opinion you can agree or you cant agree those are acual facts which you and anyone else cannot deny.
Also with you a marvellous day my friend.

              Gimmick for you. Yes.
For other people it's not. But that's not the point. The point is that you're trying too hard to deffend your personal favorites and bash all the other brands.

Thank you once again for sharing your opinion. Not a fact. Get it Captain? It's only your opinion.

Have a great and fulfilled weekend Captain POWER.
              Cheers!

Cable, charger, sim tray tool and case.

U23 Pro has way better performance, way better battery life.
                  No issues with heat.
Mi 13 lite does worse than phones with 778.

Htc uses stock android you like so much (but took years to start using 🤭).

                      Wireless charging is useless gimmick.
IP resistance too because its not covered in warranty of the device.
And xiaoomi offers nice 100+ in accesories with phone.
                      HTC cant be compared.

Cpt.Power, 20 Jul 2023For that price it should be at least SD 7 gen 2 or SD 8 gen 1. Mi 13 Lite with same SoC was announced for €50 cheaper.
While have half storage, no IP, no Qi charging and memeUI.

Yes, that crap was announced for 500 euros. Why?

I've owned previous htc flagship and they're better than other brand names out there. Can't wait to see the review of this phone.

It's good to see htc is back, waiting for review.
Please gsmarena team review it faster, htc is one of the best brand that ever exist.
Their flagship quality was very good, wish they continue to make flagship phone.

For that price it should be at least SD 7 gen 2 or SD 8 gen 1.

From my perspective it's a shame it's an oled as I can't use any without getting eyestrain, dizziness and headaches.
I use to love htc's super lcd's back in the day and would have bought this in a shot if it had been one of those displays, but I know im in a minority and other people whould have screemed from the rafters had it not been oled.
