If the price could come out under 500$ for the global market, it would be a big hit.

if the price was around 300-400usd i would consider this phone

        Video only up to 30fps?

My HTC-U11 5 years ago did 60fps. This does not make sense.

Guys, before being so negative in comments, please remember that HTC got the 3.5mm jack and microSD slot back. This alone is worth a big tap on the shoulder.
Do you realise you might not have to upgrade (whether phone or internet) due to low memory problems?

And what's this rant about S7G1 being only a little faster than 778G? Is 778G a slouch in itself? Most games in 60fps, all sorts of apps and pic and video editing, a good camera, all is covered.

I own an LG G8x with Snapdragon 855 and far as I know, S7G1 is somewhere around it, damn the power consumption, 40% more cons. in chipset means 10% overall.
And let them at least come back with an up-mid-ranger, flagship might come later.

Still love htc branch in term of quality this company always produces.

Oh, important thing about the SoC to all the negative people.

The only other alternatives are the Snap 888 which is the worst SoC ever made. The Snap 8 Gen 1 which is in the OnePlus 10 Pro and completely garbage and the Snap 8 Gen 2 which is in only the best flagships and costs a fortune.

The Snap 7 Gen 1 is perfect for this phone and more than fast enough. Even for all the negative kids playing "Real Racing". So stop complaining. It's only €500 and it's thanks to HTC that cameras in smartphones ever got good. They led in photo quality for years.

For all we know HTC will put this money into making a flagship next time and destroy the competition. As the Lithuanian guy said. You all cry about 3.5mm jack and MicroSD. Here's a phone which has that + 108MP camera, 120hz, USB3, 32MP selfie, 5G and gorilla glass victus and it's only €500.

Hang on wtf? HTC is back making phones? Since when? U23? Lmao taking a dump on Samsung's 23U 😂😂😂😂 just like the good old days.

This beast is also only €500? Welcome back HTC!

My old U11 Plus was an absolute beast, the ultrapixel camera was revolutionary. Camera absolutely destroyed all the competition back then and the U11 Plus was gorgeous. Was the first phone which could actually take low light photos.

Damn here's hoping HTC makes the world's biggest comeback. UI was always clean as heck. HTC never had bloatware and you always got 3.5mm headphones and a fast charger with the phone. We need some competition and HTC was one hell of a competitor once. So was LG.

I'm up for a new work phone in June and well HTC here you go man. 3.5mm, SD card slot? 108MP camera. I'll take it. Sounds like a great work phone. Will keep my flagship for personal use.

                LET'S GO BABY!

Oh no, another phone with the Snapdragon 7g1! It is just a slightly newer and faster but less efficient Snapdragon 778, suffers from the same curse as the 8g1 (heating and high power draw).

Nice midranger. 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM for the base model looks nice, but the price tag is quite high. Upgrade is needed in camera department, especialy if it's going to compete with the A54 from Samsung. It looks like it uses the old 108 HM sensor, and an unasuming 8MP ultra wide uncapable of 4K reccordings camera with no AF*.

None the less, I would like to reed a review of this phone.

*This critique goes for the vast majority of midrangers this year.

                                So big and heavy phone? 166mm X 75mm? 205grams?

HTC mobile division was sold to Google. They are who that design the Pixel phones. A small team was left with HTC who might be designing these phones.

I used to love HTC phones and Im sad to see them lagging behind .they used to innovate and play with giants like Samsung and Apple but these are not specs of a "pro" phone

Single speakers in 2023-24 and 1080P30FPS front selfie 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Anonymous, 18 May 2023"HTC got it wrong again, upgrade not downgrade! Gen 7... moreThe 7 Gen 1 is less efficient than the 778G, and you get a MINOR SMALL increase in performance, the 778G mostly scores 500-520K, the 7Gen1 scores 530-540K while having worse endurance and thermal throttling. Lol.

Its so bad that it forced Qualcomm to release the 7+Gen2 because they know that giving 400USD+ phones this pile of crap will make them lose even more market share against Mediatek's Dimensity 8100 and 8200.
