I bought the Wildfire s for my partner 5 weeks ago the battery tends to go down very quickly, but the main problem is data usage my partner is on 02 and subscribed to a bolt on of 500 Mb per month, this was gone within 2 weeks he does not really go online or stream content from you tube etc..... He continually gets fobbed off by 02!! Has anyone else had this problem if so how did you rectify it? Many thanks

                        Hi all,
I bought my wildfire s a month ago.And i am not facing any problem so far. If anybody facing battery packup problem please download "juice defender" and install it. Believe me guys it is too good. It literally increases your battery backup. I recently upgraded it to 2.3.5. After i upgraded some new things have been added such as lock screen market updata and internal memory's been increased. But i faced a little problem after upgraded like phone is being slow sometimes.so i raised a question regarding downgrade the os to htc customer care. The below details are said by htc customer care people.PPl if anybody faceing the same problem please follow the same step.
To clarify your issue, you stated that: You are facing problem in your device HTC Wildfire S.

In this regard, we would like to intimate you that to resolve your issue we request you to please perform the factory reset, you can perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC Wildfire S and then share your feedback.

                        1. Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, then reinsert the battery.

                        2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.

                        3. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.

                        4. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press the POWER button.

5.Press volume down for not erasing the user data or volum up for erasing the user data. If you do so all the details will be erased.

Note: - In the restore factory settings all your data will be lost. We request you to take the Backup the phone before doing Hard Reset.

Regarding downgrade of ROM on the phone, we would like to intimate you that once the Rom upgrade is done on the phone it will not able to downgrade and not able to come in the previous ROM version.

Only ROM upgrade is possible and you may not degrade it.

Please feel free to ask any queries.
I DID THE SAME THING.NOW IT IS WORKING FINE.

                        Thanks,
                        Danny archer.

sam, 29 Dec 2011how can i update my htc wildfire s to icesandwich?HTC has released Android 2.3.5 upgrade a while back. So far no plans from HTC for ICS. But I am not sure whether Wildfire S processor and hardware is compatible for ICS upgrade.

Recently, I have seen that XDA developer deployed ICS ROM in Galaxy ACE which is having the same processors and hardware. That is just a developer work.

Therefore, I could not confirm whether ICS supported in Wildfire s, even it is supported, it is in HTC hands to provide the upgrade.

If you have no fear to tryout with ICS and if your wildfire S is S-OFF type, you can try with ICS ROM. But it is all your risk, your phone may become a piece of usless brick!

So far I haven’t heard anyone done ICS treatment for Wildfire S

Please dont try these and waste your money uless you are a developer who knows the risks very well.

Better I would suggest to wait for HTC upgrade plan.

To get the most out of the battery, just disable or turn-off the things that consume lots of battery power.
                                    - wifi
                                    - GPS
                                    - bluetooth
                                    - auto sync
                                    - cell location
                                    - mobile network
                                    - reduce screen display to the lowest tolerable percentage you can read. Less than 20% will be good.

Just turn them on whenever you need them.

I use this phone for almost 7 months now and I get 1-2 days out of a single charge.

I normally use it for browsing the net / streaming videos using wifi, calls, text messaging, listening to music, and playing games.

DO NOT BUT THIS PHONE.. I thought of a good phone after reviewing all the comments..

                                      - LOW BATTERY BACKUP
                                      - LOW Internal Memory (Only 125 MB Available out of 512 MB of ROM)
                                      - You can not install the applications directly on SDCard
                                      - Worst thing is signal issue.. I am having a N82 earlier and never have a signal problem but in Wildfire S Signal is horrible I have changed the Service provider but no go

I could see lot of threads going for phone comparison, which one is good to buy with budget.
With Midrange phones, Wildfire S, Galaxy Ace, Explorer are the major phones in discussions.

My personal Comments as a user of these phones:

Let me start with Wildfire S as I am holding this in my hand every second.
Good: Build Quality, Pixel density, HTC sense, Touch response.
Bad: Internal Memory, Camera, Gaming, Useless preloaded apps

                                        Galaxy Ace:
Good: 3.5 Inch Screen, DLNA, Camera, Hugo Boss edition, Internal memory more than 100MB,DNSe Sound enhancement
Bad: Less pixel density, Cheap Plastic finish, No Automatic brightness control

                                        Explorer:
Good: Build Quality, Pixel density, HTC scene 3.5, Touch response, Snapdragon, Cortex A5
Bad: Internal Memory, Camera is downgraded, Gaming, Useless preloaded apps
