No radio, less talk time, less colour (only 256k where as previous version has 16million colour). Better EDGE speed, better OS, slightly better processor and RAM than previous version.

Anonymous, 16 Feb 2011NEGATIVES compared to the original wildfire --------------... morePositives

      + much better screen resolution
      + Wifi N
      + More Ram
      + Bluetooth 3.0
      + Faster CPU

I am inclined to agree that the original Wildfire looks *marginally* better than this new one. Not a deal breaker.

I'll buy one in a heart-beat. Coming from an old Symbian phone, to me this is heaven... and a very affordable heaven I might add.

Is there any info on the price of this device?
The old Wildfire was kinda crappy because of the screen but this one has a slightly better resolution. But i wonder what will be the impact on the price because of this. The old HTC Wildfire costs around 289 EUR here in Slovenia (retail open sale).

If HTC Wildfire S and HTC Salsa are in same price range then I'll go for HTC Salsa, as the bettery of Wildfire S is really poor...

I was hoping that wildfire 2 would have better bettery backup, but very disappointed.. If it would have Li-Ion 1500 mAh, like optimus one, it goona be best seller of this year...

Will it support Li-Ion 1500 mAh ?? then I'll love to be buy this little beauty...

Poor HVGA screen, does not matter if it costs 50$ more unless it has minimum 3.7 800x480 screen (wvga).!!!

Wildfire S is just in one word - AMAZING. I was thinking about buying a Wildfire but now when I saw the Wildfire S, I decided to wait... I hope not so long...

                                Silly observation:

                                Incredible S has a S-LCD screen.
                                Desire S has a S-LCD screen.

Wildfire is not listed as having one. Why is it called the Wildfire S then? or does the S stand for Sense 3.0?

NEGATIVES compared to the original wildfire
                                  ------------------------------------------------
                                  Down to 256K colors.
                                  NO Optical trackpad.
                                  NO Radio.
I have no idea what they were thinking about the 1230mAh battery capacity.
I think the original wildfire still looks better.

Disappointing! Wildfire original was launched with low resolution, without flash this was a good time for HTC to fightback Samsung & Motorola. I do welcome the higher resolution but thumbs down for 600Mhz processor. They should have now opted for 800 Mhz. They may would have managed to pull Samsung Galaxy Ace, Motorola Defy customers.
