I have been using this phone for the past 7 months now and I think it is high time to post my opinions about it here after seeing no one eager to do some justice to this great phone. All right let's start with what many other people are complaining about at this phone, the battery back up they say it is bad, well,to be honest,it is not that bad at all for a android phone I mean I have seen other android powered phones at my friends witch had much worse battery back up.The battery for me lasts on average 2 days or a little bit more but I have to say I am using it pretty much in that time from listening to audio books and music on it,turning wi fi on to go online, turning bluetooth to send files and talk on my bluetooth headset and so on of course in the first couple of weeks the battery will not fare that good but that is normal for any new phone until the battery stars kicking in,anyway this is way better than a nokia with symbian on it witch in my opinion gave a lot worse battery back up for what they had as specs.Anyway lets move on to call quality witch in my opinion is very good even in comparison with my previous phone an lg t300 witch is the best phone I have personally had in terms of both signal and call quality even the bluetooth, in spite of what some people here are saying is pretty good connected to the samsung bluetooth headset I have and it has good range,I personally managed to talk from every room in my 3 room apartment without getting disconnected from the phone witch i left on the table in my bedroom, of course the farther you get from it the call quality in the headset will decrease as well but it is still very good that it doesn't drop the call altogether when you are too far from it.Another cool thing is that it is has some pretty nice and sensitive sensors on it for light and for proximity,I mean the one for light is the best I have seen until now it's perfect in my opinion, music playback is good as well especially on headphones,on speaker is a bit average but not the worst I have seen. Now it has some quirks as well of course like any phone out there like the fact that the jack where you plug the headphones is waaay too sensitive and you have to be careful how you plug in your headphones couse they could slip out at any time, this may be a fault with my unit but I am just pointing it out,the sense ui could be a little unstable if you update it so my advice would be to leave it like that couse out of the box it works verry good but updated it could have some bugs as I have seen until now.Last thing, the build quality witch for me was what made me fall in love with this phone is superb I mean the metallic front looks fantastic and fells great to the touch the back is very nice as well and has a very good grip as well this is waay better than the all plastiky feel of the sony ericsson.Anyway in my opinion it may not be the best phone out there but for me is a great all rounder give almost everything I wanted in a phone at this price range.

sharu_d, 23 Dec 2012Hi friends, I am planning to buy a mobile in the range of R... moreI am very disappointed with the htc wildfire s. battery life is 4-6hours without abusing it and very bad performance. headset not functioning out of the box (only one ear working) so It's a bad choice. Either go for a more expensive android, either a basic phone like a qwerty. Android + low quality hardware is nothing good.

You can hardly do it without a pc.
You need to root it first, so if there's no app for that phone you have to use a pc. ZTE Blade had a rooting app.
Then you need to download the firmware you want. For your phone. Head over to XDA or Modaco forums for more info. XDA is less cluttered.
