This phone seemed like a very versatile option beginning with the 3 types of data connection, which switch through 3G, LTE & 4G. Everything works fine, internet access, apps, cameras are surprisingly good, and they have features I wasn't expecting, HOWEVER, when it comes to making calls, and managing your contacts... OMG!!!

Stupid phone will get you killed, if you are trying to dial 911 or ANYONE! The phone -app- sucks, big time. It freezes, it "updates" contacts 3-4 times a day when you least expect it -or you most need to make a call- and there is no setting to disable this updates. It won't save new contacts right away either, so in the beginning, I'd think I had saved someone's number and walk away, just to realize stupid phone had froze, and no changes had been made. That's a big dealbreaker, if you want this phone to become your personal assistant, so think twice before getting it. If anyone has an idea, on how to fix this or update the FW manually, do tell, please.

    Also the battery performance has decreased with lollipop and phone heats up more than it used to be.

      Don't update to lollipop .Many bugs are there.Use the version that came with your phone. That suits your phone best. Also performance hasn't that much changed. Only the api level increased from 19 to 22. But that isn't a problem because all apps run on KitKat.

        my Huawei Ascend G7 current version is G7-O1V100R001C00B263 so how I get to update to lolypop ?idea please...

          Very slow after a few months usage, no updates whatsoever. Missing crucial Android components like device encryption. Highly recommend avoiding this phone and other Huawei devices for that matter.

                      i just tried to update lollipop 5.1.1 but my phone (huawei ascend g7 l01) is not opening. It just freezes to the android logo. What should i do???

                                  I have Ascend G7
                                  I had a problem of contact application halt!
                                  My contacts went blank!
                                  i noticed that "imo" application did not respond and my issue of contacts began since then. I uninstalled "imo" and problem resolved.
                                  I also turned "huawei cloud" and "google back up" off.
                                  until now everything is OK.
