Huawei Ascend Mate is far better than Samsung S3 & Samsung Note 2. I spend my 3hrs before buying this fone & i m very much satisfied with its performance & battery timing off course. very good set no doubt.

I bought a this "amazing friend" in China on August 2013. I bought the Black one,2GB RAM version. I bought it for CNY 2200, that time it was equal to around USD 360.
You know what I would say?
This is the BEST phone with its best price among the similar specification.
This phone really help me a lot through my busy day.
With its all spec, I am 100% satisfied when watching HD videos. Although this smartphone uses internal virtual button, but it has the built-in feature that let those button to shrink. So I can watch movies or playing game with 6.1 complete FULL SCREEN.
And about the sound, oh, it has the most amazing speaker I have ever heard from a smartphone. It is because this phone supports Dolby Digital Plus and also because the hardware support it.
About the battery, you really don't have to ask this question, because you know it already by seeing the number, 4050mAh, really makes you up the whole day. And if you know how to utilize the battery well, you can end up like me, for being with this phone for two days!
About the camera, I love the focus capability of this phone. It feels like you are handling a small SLR camera, it can give you the focus that you usually look for from the SLR camera. The HDR feature also work so well.
In conclusion, you will really know how powerful this device be only after you feel it yourself, because the specification told do not really represent everything you have to now. Me here, already try it by myself and surely satisfied with this.

affancy, 13 Nov 2013I think Lenovo S920 or P780 would be a better choice. They ... moreOf course Lenovo S920 or P780 have much lower price tag! Their overall spec is still lower than Huawei Ascend MATE. You will never know how impressive Huawei MATE can be if you haven't try it yourself.
1GB RAM if really not enough for the smartphone these days, and all you will got is only the annoying lag.
2GB will help you a lot. :)
I would say this phone is really a powerful contender. :)

Go check these 2 phones' specs if you doubt me. I've done my research and ended up buying S920. Best decision ever made

Updated a couple days ago, its horrible! Althought the interface is a nice change, but my Phone keeps freezing and turning off, I don't get messages or sometimes just the notifications until I restart the phone (although I restart lots because it freezes) and I don't get notifications from other apps.

Phone is just Awesome, the best money can buy at this price range. Its been 3 months i have been using phone, and i have not had a single issue with phone. The Battery life is amazingly good.
