Got 520 as 2015 Xmas gift, no experiences like issues posted (knock on wood) even after many drops (in protective case). Never knew brand before and have been pleased with performance thus far after going thru many rated brands. Software has to be related with some complaints listed. Phone used watching many Youtube videos and dont have any battery draining or even lag or typing delay issues. Would've expected the experience here in Jamaica, being third world and at times dumped on with second grade items. Based on my smart phone experiences check for software clashes. My main prob is limited internal memory, thank god.

My Huawei just shut down on me it keeps re-starting nothing i.e. screen not coming up. Unable to view my contacts, whatsapp, and other. What should I do. Its not a year since I bought this phone.

PaulJM, 16 Jul 2017I'm still happily using my Y520 after 2 years, sure it's sl... moreyes I 've met many of friends who changed there mobile after some months but I 've this and when I met with friends they said 'ohh too old mobile it is, are you not bored from it' then i said no and its battery timing is very good but not on data plan.... and cant use 4G on it except these problem this is very good mobile than others

THE WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER TOUCHED. This phone is able to put you off huawei easily!!! It might not be cheap but do not buy it.

Rooting this Y520 phone is definitely worth it and makes it possible to multitask and run some demanding apps even on the very poor specs.
At stock, because of the very low RAM it can't even run simple apps like Poweramp + Firefox at the same time without force closing. After rooting it and making a 400mb swap file the 2 apps are able to run with each other and not crash :)
After rooting, newer games can also become playable on it by using GL Tools to reduce graphics quality.
