Huawei CEO shares a photo from the P60 Pro
Huawei CEO Richard Yu is steering his company through tough times, but neither he nor his team have lost their passion for photography. The CEO posted this “random photo” from an unnamed upcoming phone:
A camera sample from an upcoming Huawei flagship
Yu didn’t try to hide which phone that is, the Weibo post is labeled “from Huawei P60 Pro”. Presumably this is an image from the telephoto camera, just like the batch of images from last week.
This camera in particular is said to feature a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor and a lens with 3.5x magnification. Interestingly, this sensor allegedly has an RYYB color filter, a long time Huawei specialty.
As for the other cameras, they should be a pair of 50MP modules – a Sony IMX888 in the main and an IMX858 in the ultra wide. Unconfirmed specs claim a 6.6” QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate (1,920Hz PWM dimming), a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging, IP68 rating and HarmonyOS 3.0.
The first report claimed that the phone will use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, though later leaks pointed to the 8 Gen 2 instead (note: in both cases we are talking about 4G only chips due to trade restrictions).
A vanilla Huawei P60 is also expected, that one should switch to a 52+50+16MP setup (IMX789 main, IMX858 ultra wide and IMX351 for the tele module).
Going back to the camera sample shared by Huawei’s CEO, it’s a really difficult shot – the phone had enough dynamic range not only for the artificially lit building on a pitch black background, it also managed to resolve detail in the moon. We’re not buying the “random photo” comment, still that’s quite a flex.
Huawei is expected to make the P60 series official later this month.

Yes. Huawei does that. And so does Samsung. There are reports of Samsung adding details to the moon. No idea why you feel hurt when Huawei is mentioned. I dislike both companies for fake moon images. It's one thing to process image by balancin...
