Huawei launches AppSearch app for users running HMS-powered devices

Ro, 20 March 2020

Huawei is determined to sell its devices outside of China even without GMS on board and it's rapidly expanding the portfolio of apps in its AppGallery store. But there are still a large number of popular apps that can't be found on Huawei's store and owners of the latest Huawei devices outside of China are forced to look for alternatives (we've summed them up for you here).

Now there's another solution dubbed AppSearch. The new app has been introduced on Huawei's German website and it's still in its testing phase.

It helps you find the desired apps for your Huawei/Honor HMS-powered handsets without having to jump through various hoops like installing third-party app stores before installing their apps. Facebook and WhatsApp are some of the examples.

The search will guide you to an alternative app store where the app you are looking for is available so you don't have to repeat the same search numerous times.

In short, all the content found using AppSearch is provided by third parties. And apps are sorted into categories - by region, by popularity or by purpose. As of now, the AppSearch sources the apps from five stores - APKMirror, APKMonk, APKPure, Huawei AppGallery and Amazon App Store.

The Appsearch app is available for download over here if you feel like giving it a try.
