Huawei Mate40 Pro display glass points to smaller punch hole

Michail, 20 August 2020

We’ve already seen renders of Huawei’s upcoming Mate40 Pro which showed us it will come with a dual punch hole notch like the P40 series. The cut out appeared to be smaller in size and now we have a leaked image of the phone’s display glass which shows it’s indeed shrunken in size compared to the P40 Pro.

We can also see the display will retain its curved “waterfall” design like on the Mate30 Pro. According to the new leak, the top and bottom of the panel will also feature a curvature though not as pronounced as on the P40 Pro.

Elsewhere, the Mate40 Pro is expected to carry the 5nm Kirin 1000 chipset and just yesterday we got our first look at the alleged camera modules for the Mate40 series.

These will feature a square glass cut out with a circular design within for the four cameras on the vanilla and 5 on the Pro version. The upcoming Mates are expected to debut with 108MP primary shooters with improved optics with the Pro version also getting a periscope with 5x optical and 55x digital zoom.
