I admire Huawei for coming up with a 16:9 phablet when all the rest have joined the 18:9 NarrowView display insanity for fear of being left out. I admire Huawei for providing their flagship phones with 4000mAh batteries when all the rest of the flagships have just barely over 3300mAh or less. I admire Huawei for equipping there Mate 10 with IR blaster when all the rest don't have it or have removed it. I admire Huawei for keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack when many have ditched it. Now if only Huawei brings back the FM radio which the Mate 8 and Mate 7 has, then it would be the rarest have-it-all flagship phablet in 2017.

quest112233, 21 Oct 2017i just bought the mate 9 the day before mate 10 launched lo... moreworth for an upgrade because chipset inside mate 10 built in 10nm compared with 16nm in mate 9. This will affect battery life. Mate 10 also has HDR display, great speakers(i have watched reviews),sharp display,battery idk but for sure it will be great. Only drawback is Bluetooth 4.2 not 5.

i just bought the mate 9 the day before mate 10 launched lol,btw is it worth the upgrade to mate 10?mate 10 pro is too expensive for me....the price for mate 10 in my country is RM2699 and thats Rm200 more than my just bought mate 9...any advice?

During the Huawei presentation, the slides mentioned Mate 10 series has a 30% improvement in battery life over the Mate 9. However when looking at the breakdown of official battery stats listed on their shopping site for the Mate 10 atleast, the increase in not uniformly distributed.
Mate 9
3G call: up to 30 hours;
4G web browsing: up to 20 hours;
Video playback: up to 20 hours;
audio playback: up Up to 105 hours;
standby time: up to 21 days;
Mate 10
3G call: 25 hours;
4G web browsing: 21 hours;
Video playback: 20 hours;
audio playback: 160 hours;
standby time: up to 22 days;
So in all the Mate 9 to Mate 10 upgrade will give a minor boost in battery in real life usage depending on the your tasks. The efficiency of Kirin 970 is balanced out by the QHD display and additional 4 cores on the GPU. No breaking records to be expected.

Mate 10 probably is the only 16:9 screen phone with such small bezel. This is an excellent upgrade over the Mate 9 from incredible design in being as compact as a 5.5 inch phone yet retaining the screen size and 4000 mAh battery, headphone jack and dual sim/external memory. Also have improved display, new efficient and smart Kirin 970, and top level camera. Front fp is bonus for those who keep their phone on the desk. I like the mocha brown and black colors although the midnight blue of Mate 10 pro looks the best.

Currently owning Xperia XZ since last year,
Huawei mate 10 launch in uae at price of 2299 dirhams while Xperia XZ1 have cheap at 1999 dirhams..
