The initial reviews indicated that it would come with 6gb ram and a 2k screen.

Should i go for Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro ? Their price is 543 euro and 623 euro respectively in my country , which has better battery life ?

As per other websites, both the Mate phones support 32-bit / 384 kHz audio and also have stereo speakers (i.e. earpiece as loud speaker).

You opened account only to bash mate 10!!! Note 8 comes with default fullhd resolution because even Samsung knows 2k screen will drain battery a lot. in 2k resolution and heavy usages note 8 battery drains within 12 hr, screen on time is very very low. Even with full hd, note 8 lasts just 1 day. Mate 10 pro can last at least 2 days. And headphone jack?? That's not at all a deal breaker if you can buy such high end devices. Type C has it's own advantages. Soon Samsung will also remove headphone jack. it's ip67 certified it's just "10 cm" less than ip68. ROFL!! Note 8 has curve screen which is a weak point and cab break by just one proper drop!! And it has 128 gb internal storage. Much more than enough. No definite need of a memory card. If you need more than it, then better buy a desktop. Now advantages.- It has 18:9 ratio display, build quality and design, AI processor advantage, evidently much better camera, battery, and is much less priced. So mate 10 series wins hands down. Samsung and apple are doomed now.

And your ready to spend 900 Euro for iphone 8 plus says it all. Huawei has the Mate 10 which has 2k screen, headphone jack, external storage and smaller than iphone 8 plus despite 5.9 inch screen, and 200 Euro cheaper.
So basically Mate 10 and mate 10 pro have two different customers who have different priority. I personally don't find the missing features as deal breaker. Those who do can always go for the Mate 10 as those who complain about lack of headphone jack are usually the ones who complain want the 2k screen, external card slot and 16:9 screen ratio.
