No 4k video recording. That's shame but i think the phone is good. Can you tell me does it play 4k video on Youtube for instance because i checked P20 Lite and it can't play anything above 1080p smoothly and no support for 4k.

Not bad hardware, but bad software. I'm sure without that ugly EMUI, phone will be rock solid. And still no Android Pie, which is shame.

What about the screen protection from scratches? Should we add a protective glass or it has antiscratch mechanism?

I bought it in late Jan (2019) at $290. Doesn´t make me miss amoled. Camera it´s ok for the price and I´m amazed battery life. Pretty fast response, but it is not perfect. I removed/disabled many things I wouldn´t use and it became snappier.

My opinion on this phone (which I have for a few hours)
- The hardware is decent, screen, camera, all good. I really like the rear fingerprint sensor, its fast, and lets me skip the lock screen (which is a good thing).
- It is my first 'notch' phone and although I was sceptical it is a none issue.
But then there's the software:
- I have never unboxed a phone so bloated. Not only are there the standard inferior, mail, calendar, contacts and galery bloat apps but there were also some games installed (might be something specific from the carrier).
- The way huawei tries to mimic apple is just pathetic, from the lack of an app drawer (it can be enabled) to the design of the settings icon.
- With the app drawer enabled I actually liked the launcher but then there is "global search" another piece of bloat that opens whenever you scroll down (unless you really start at the top). This "feature" lets you search your entire phone (like google doesn't know how to do search ? ). There is no option to disable this so another launcher is the only solution.
- The lock screen is somthing weird with some random photo's you can like or dislike. It should be customizable, but you need to sign up for yet another bloat app. (Luckily the fingerprint activates the screen and bypasses the lockscreen).
My verdict:
Huawei made it to the 'never again' list (Joining apple and Samsung)

I have this phone for about a month. After a month of usage I have to say that phone is realy great, camera is ok and battery life is amazing BUT i have two problems. One is "SD card error" message from time to time.Second more anoying is "ghost keyboard" on my screen after I use it for a while and "ghost" of previous application I used in the next one. Those "ghosts" last for about 10-20 minutes and after that they dissapear and everything is normal again.I dont know why is this happening because it is an LCD display so it is not "screen burning".It is "display retention" but I ont know how to solve this.It is not permanent,it is temporary and I dont want to give my phone to service because I dont want they to open my phone and change my display because of that minor issue.Anyone had the same problem?Advice?

This phone is the best I have ever had. Stunning display, beautiful colors, fast, responsive, no lag. I have the 4GB RAM version and its more than enough for me. I will give my phone to my sister for a few days so I did a backup and a factory reset.
http://www.hard-reset.com/huawei-mate-20-lite-hard-reset.html
Never trust your sister ha ha :DD
I bought my phone for 2/3 of the original price for my TV, internet and mobile 4G subscription and they gave this price.
I recommend this phone to everyone..
thanks!

Update: SD card now works perfectly and doesn't fail any more (touch wood). There was no phone update or anything but for some reason its OK now. I'm happy now :)
Otherwise i still like the phone. Works really well, is fast, has nice big screen, camera is good enough for me, battery is super good (2 days +), has most current features of other flagships (face unlock for example).
There are however couple of bad points: face unlock doesn't always work as i would want it to work and can be annoying; charging takes ages (almost 3 hours to full capacity), but i guess its no big deal if you just charge it at night; occasional crash in google feed; beauty mode is annoying to me and I cant see where to turn it off permanently; still on Android 8 and unknown when will be updated; glass on the phone is not Gorilla glass (I believe) so can get damaged quite easily; no case or screen protector included in the box.
In addition I didn't get a case for it at first and its more slippery than I expected and I already dropped it and slightly damaged the screen. So if you do get the phone - get a case for it straight away!!!
