to compare Huawei Mate 20 lite with Samsung phones you need to take these models; 'Samsung Galaxy J8' or 'Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018)' in order to compare 'Samsung Galaxy s21' you need 'Huawei Mate 40 Pro' so please compare and come back to comment on which segment Samsung is better, of course if there is, and I am here to replicate and to present that Huawei is 2 times better than Samsung, so here you go ;

Kevc, 19 Jan 2021Had this phone coming up 2 years and can't wait to get... moreit's your thinking but mine is against yours , because 2 days ago I replaced my steam locomotive from a mobile phone called samsung with a Huawei Honor 20 it's just like you switched from a fiat panda to a ferrari, thank god for my great decision that offered to me my mobile operator for a surcharge of only 100 eur, and am overjoyed for my new excellent phone.

Had this phone coming up 2 years and can't wait to get my new Samsung s21. I've had all the big manufactures for numerous years and this mate 20 lite is the worst of them all.
Texting is terrible no matter how you customise it, camera is average, interface is jarring at best. Only good thing is the battery life. I wouldn't recommend this phone. Get a Samsung you'll thank me for it.

Good phone camera, okay screen and speed excellent however some may say it's waterproof now i don't know if this is just my phone or i've damaged it with water but it keeps resetting anomalously for no reason whyyyy. I've had it for a year now and once i accidentally wet it that started happening so i'm well aware it maybe my fault however that can just show it isn't waterproof.

The whole thing is a total scam I bought it a year prior and this gets by the time even worse I mean wtf it lags everywhere I can not open the chrome and scroll down.

Camera is okay, definitely not the best. Speed is really good, even after 2 years. EMUI 10 is really good. The phone now gets only security updates, and I don't know how long even these will last. Sad that it didn't at least get EMUI 10.1. The screen isn't the best. The screen resolution is good, but it is an LCD so the colors aren't the best. The screen also has an image retention problem since it was bought. The back panel started opening up, maybe the battery is expanding a bit for some reason. I should replace it with a new battery.

If camera didn't was so poor, maybe still will using it. Now is a backup phone. Good battery, display not so good, camera awful. EMUI is ok to me. Sadly really bad camera.

Would be nice if it at least got EMUI 10.1, since it most likely won't get EMUI 11. It's a good phone, though the camera has a lot of noise in certain conditions and my screen has a weird image retention problem, which could probably be fixed through the warranty. Battery life is good and the performance is really good, though there can be lag sometimes.

Hi Tbone, I've verified with Huawei support and local phone dealer that Mate 20 Lite cannot play video over USB to HDMI. I've also bought the 20$ adapter and cable before finding that out. Phone has to have MTP option when you connect it over USB, however it just offers Charging / File trasfer / Photo transfer. I can't seem to find, even on this site, what are the phones USB connectivity modes.

Now it works fine, no more problems. It's still under guarantee so the repair was free (also it was the manufacturer's fault).

What's this talk of bad camera on this phone? Gsmarena's review says it has a very good camera, both in daylight and night-time conditions, which is also visible from the photos included in the review.

On my Mate 20 Lite, if I read a longer text on the phone, the text remains burned on the screen, but after some time it disappears. Any solution to don't remain burn?
