Maverick , 24 May 2020Mate 20 Pro or S10 or S10+. A71 is a midranger and not in s... moreDon't go for s10 line, usb is difficult to repair either you have to buy a whole new motherboard or have some REAL expert to unsolder and solder a new usb port
plus s10 is stuck with 15w charging,
Exynos processor isn't my cup of tea.
The battery on the s10 is horrendous.
if you're cool with that then GO otherwise id choose m2pro all day super battery life and fast charging.

Jean, 22 May 2020Is mate 20 pro a good buy this 2020? I wanted that mate... moreGo for it. I am sticking to my Mate 20 pro for the same reason since M30P doesnt have Google, we can sideload it but i want hassle free life when it come to phones, moreover M20P would also receive Android 11 and next version of EMUI. Camera is still up there with top dogs and battery is amazing, performance is stil snappy as day one. This will last another couple of years easily. And i feel this is real flagship killer right now as it comes way cheap and best value for money at the moment.

paintbuckets, 09 May 2020Any long term Mate 20 Pro users can chime in regarding the ... moreI am using a second hand m20pro, though I may not be a long time mate 20 user it think I can share my thoughts.
Coming from a P30 pro (new) I dont see any noticeable difference from my 1 year old mate 20 pro, Who knows how the previous owner charges this phone.
Yes, from what I read charging your phone between 40% ~ 80% is good for the battery, as it has limited cycles. So, draining and juicing it up to a 100% is counted as 1 cycle so on and so forth.
Yes, p30 pro and mate 20 pro heats up bit while fast charging.

Any long term Mate 20 Pro users can chime in regarding the battery degradation and charging?
I have been using the fast charger supplied with the phone and I charge my phone twice a day, as in I don't let my battery go below 50%. At times my phone do get warm while charging but I understand it's due to fast charging.
So what I want to know is, is my charging habit good for the battery? Also can I use other powerbrick that has slower charging to charge the phone?

I admit its small but still eats a lot of space and you tend to miss notifications. I don't mind to sacrifice a few mm's of screen real estate. Hope they did something on the upcoming emui 10.1 update.

Late to the party but hoping to make up for it lol! Prior to this, had jumped from a Mate 10 Pro to a Pocofone F1, just to see what the fuss was about. Well, had enough of that, bought the Mate 20 Pro because it was on offer, just loving it, love Huawei's battery and OS management - Never had slowdowns or hiccups with the M10P and hoping for the same great things from the M20P. So far loving the camera and the screen - and coming from the Pocofone, had no problem with the M20P's notch, which definitely seems a little..."2018" nowadays lol.

I came from S10, Oneplus 7T and P30 pro then side jump to mate 20 pro.
Yes, my phone choice is kinda eclectic.
All I can say is so far this as May 2020
For me nothing else comes close to M20pro for price to performance ration
S10 vs Mate 20 pro = Faster charging 40w vs 15w
camera is better on the M20pro as well.
7t vs m20 pro = Huawei's OS is kind polished vs oxygen OS, don't get me wrong. Oxygen Os is fast, really fast but in terms of day to day use. Huawei's take on android 10 is smoother (less bugs etc)
p30 pro vs M20pro = Stereo speakers!! maybe for some its not important but for me who likes to watch multimedia in my phone. Its a different experience, though p30 pro's camera is a tad better.
