So good ... moreI hope you understand whatever you are watching with your phone on loudspeakers mixed with the noises around you. Don't you think that the people around you are irritated by the noise coming from your phone because they are not interested to whatever you are watching?
At home, why watch videos on your phone? You don't have TV set?
And there is also a thing called Google Chrome cast for your information. To cast whatever you are watching on your phone to a big flat screen LED TV connected to a theater surround speakers.
What a shallow happiness watching videos on phone small screen with phone loud speakers instead of headset or subwoofer speakers on the big screen TV.

Do not contribute to the noise around you when watching YouTube, be kind to nature, use wired headset. If you are watching YouTube at home you can connect it to a wired sound system. So I don't see any big deal with the phone speakers.

Just sound from the speakers is NOT good enough for watching videos in conditions different from absolute silence. Definitely the speakers quality is NOT the flagship level. It is widely recognized fact. No need to argue about it.

And they MUST be in such expensive phone which apparently is not the case. Take Google Pixel 3 and compare! Mate 20 Pro speakers sounds like cheap $50 shit compared to Pixel.

Get some cotton buds and clean them very well.

The ringing volume I set for my Mate 20 Pro is only 1/3 and it is loud enough.

Just try to watch Youtube on Mate 20 Pro in conditions different from absolute silence. I came from Pixel 3 which has the best speakers in business. This is what I'm talking about and I'm not alone! One speaker embedded into USB-C port (!?), another one is under a small grid on the top. Now on Earth it can sound good???

loving this phone...was tempted to buy p30 pro...but mate 20 pro is still better...no dual speakers ..no 3d faceunlock...no 2k screen...better to wait for mate 30 pro

I'm also thinking about switching to P30 from Mate 20 Pro. Just tired of curved screens, don't like the speakers volume and quality on Mate 20 Pro as well as horrible fingerprint sensor (switched that damn thing off). Battery life isn't critical for me. Just not really convinced yet that the P30 camera is any better.

I think the speaker on the p30 is better as it isn't coming out of the type c port. Depends what you want it for? If you want it for battery life mate 20 Pro is your best bet I'm switching to that soon.
