playboy79, 08 Feb 2019Using this phone since a month or more... Best phone of 201... moreCan u tell me briefly the difference i confused
And what about material and durability of mate 20

Coming upto a change in contract and phone at the end of April. Currently have a Samsung Galaxy S8+, but looking to come away from Samsung but stay with Android. Huawei has been recommended to me and as I love photography and not always have my pro kit around when the perfect photo presents itself. After reading people's opinions and that's what they are.... people's perspective on the phone, software etc... it's going to be the Mate 20 Pro I feel.....l

Using this phone since a month or more... Best phone of 2018 and maybe 2019...amazing camera.... Battery king.... Finger print and face unlock work super fast...
Size is perfect.... I also own a Note 9 and use both daily... If I had a choice to use only 1 phone I would use mate 20 pro and love that it still has ir blaster.. Well done Huawei

One of the best phones I ever owned. I would dare put this phone in the same league with the Nokia 6310i.

Unlocked oem option in developer settings does not mean anything. You still need to have code to unlock bootloader !!!

Walter C. Dornez, 07 Feb 2019So like, there's no workaround, nothing to do about it? Dam... moreActually in latest .183 updates, they brought back the 'OEM unlock' in developer settings. But do i need the feels to root? I dont know for what purpose lol as all apps & games works flawlessly.

Back in the days, I'm using Xperia Neo, Arc, Z1, Z5.....on that every device i root & unlock bootloader just to make it stabilized & optimized the device to the maximum potential possible (custom kernels, roms, themes)...but now? All jobs can be done flawlessly. And i believe it goes the same to every flagship device now...we've come to the part that performance are overkill for todays apps & games.

I dont know, maybe i'm getting too old now....lol.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2019No. They stop doing that several months ago. So like, there's no workaround, nothing to do about it? Damn, that actually sucks

Walter C. Dornez, 05 Feb 2019Why can't you just unlock it?Because bootloader is locked. You can not install twrp, custom firmware... This is my first and last huawei phone. If I pay so much for flagship phone, i want to do with my phone whatever I want. If I want to be limited in every way I would choose IOS. Also my last update is from first half of december. I live in europe and I am still on 9.0.0.153
Even Samsung has updates more often.

Thus, I chose the XR. You want the battery, performance, and camera prowess. Mate 20 Pro. Nothing wrong with preferring different things.

After stoping installation on Google Camera, and some others app, after no rooting, no bootloader, they start stopping installation Aptoide Market and APKPure. How is this possible? I didnt get updated form Huawei, im still one 158 updated. And till this day I update Aptoide Market every week. Now they pop-up message that Huawie IT didn't allow to install this application.

What is Huawei doing? Is Huawei starting to make "China Wall" in online world? This is very bad choise for Huawei...

Updates are so slow... I am in europe region and my last firmware is from 1 december... Come on Huawei move you little. Customer support is very bad.

I choose android over ios because system is open, and now when i hear something like this then I will have to choose Xiaomi or Samsung. I wanted Mate 20 pro because of camera but locked bootloader is a big dealbreaker.
