                Buffalo.66, 26 Aug 2025Has anyone used a 512GB NM card with the Mate 20 X?Nope

Had this phone since day one 7 years ago. Changed once the batt, screen (because of screen burn) and volume/power buttons. Phone is still working fine. It's a real workhorse.

If I can get my hands on the 5G version, it'll be great.

Mine is 6 years old It's great, I wear a vivo fold plus for cameras, but nothing is more practical than my 20X.

Disco77, 09 Sep 2025I've been up until the last few years an early adopter... moreSame here, I feel you.
It's so far the best large phone ever made. I bought mine 5 years ago and never changed. The key for convenience I think is the wide screen as opposed to it's overall size.
I like how Huawei Pura X feels in hands unfolded. I am personally waiting a competing "Pura X" from Honor, so I finally upgrade my 20 X.
I also like TCL 60 Ultra, but its screen is just as wide as iPhone 16 Pro Max which is not enough for Huawei Mate 20 X feel. TCL didn't get the point of large phones. The screen should be wider, not taller.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2025I previously used Xperia Z ultra, ASUS Zenfone 3 ultra, and... moresee my recent review above, I just bought another and honestly, apart from not wanting to try banking on it, its as good as any other phone ive used, and i include my Pixel 9 Pro which has been as buggy as hell as well as a terrible battery. ive even got Gemini loaded so does at least some AI which is pretty cool for a 2019 handset. SO happy to have it back again and so cheap to buy, you wont find any other phone even near the size for this money.

I've been up until the last few years an early adopter of new mobile tech, since late 80's in fact. I used to write my own firmware for early android phones and had one of the first iphones in the UK having it imported. I only say this as back up on why I want you to believe it when I emphasise what an amazing handset i have found this to be, maybe even my all time favourite. If big phones are not for you, then of course this will not work however if it they do, this must be one of the best phones ever made at the size it is. I had a 20x 4G for nearly 5 years , broke it maybe a year ago, although my daily driver is now a Pixel 9 Pro, I missed the 20x so much i have just bought another. After ages updating and loading cloud backups i have to say, it seems so far, as good as it ever was. Battery is great, screen and especially its very loud speakers are still on point. i have not had any issues downloading or updating 99% of Google apps that i use, because of the lack of security update i do not intend to use it for banking / financials but apart from that, so far so good. For me, its killer use has been for consuming video content, youtube, Netflix etc and for that, find me something better. Bi-folding phones do not supply a natural viewing ratio IMO, tri-folds I guess will and be amazing, if you have over 2k to buy one. My replacement 20x cost me just over £100 / $100 which is stupid cheap. The build quality still feels great to me and ive got an M Pen stylus for $10 on its way! So in short, is this handset still relevant in 2025, my answer is a huge yes.

Has anyone used a 512GB NM card with the Mate 20 X?

I previously used Xperia Z ultra, ASUS Zenfone 3 ultra, and now I use this Mate 20 X. Yes, they are all wide smartphones.
I bought it probably at the end of 2020 for about $600. I've been using it for 4.5 years, and its battery is starting to deteriorate.
However, I can't find a good model to replace the MATE 20 X.
The Mate 20 X has a large, easy to read screen, the camera is great, and the sound quality from the speakers is excellent.
Recent models have great cameras, but the width of the screen is narrow (even though it's advertised as a large screen model, it's just vertically long), and the sound quality from the speakers is poor. Sound quality can be replaced by earphones or Bluetooth speakers, but there is no way to replace the screen size.
I want a large (especially wide width) smartphone, but I wonder if there is no market need for it that no manufacturer makes it...

But seriously i couldn't make it, it is real torturing to my eyes and eventually i switched back to my beloved mate 20X, i feel good and it doesn't really concern me about other models newer hardware, advanced CPU whatsoever, nothing can beat the 7.2" screen. Mate 20X is champion.
