Why don't they make a 7.2 inch phone anymore. This phone is a beast. Been using it since launch. Would really like to to buy phone with this screen size

Very different approaches to photography. Xperia 1 ii takes faster shots and autofocus with HDR is excellent, with very good manual controls. Mate 20 X better for battery and point-and-shoot photography. Question: Is the Mate 20 X has a good Manual/Pro Camera settings? Thank you!

I've tried other phones but they are just too small. I think if you stay away from shady email links and only install apps from Google Play store, you, we, should be ok.

I love this phone and want to continue using it (forever!)... does it matter that it no longer gets updates/security updates though? Is it still "safe" to use?

The 5G model you mentioned also has the advantages of faster charging and 256gb storage (compared to 128gb). But the 4G model has better speakers and a bigger battery.

For 3 years, I have been completely satisfied with the Mate 20X: (6GB RAM 128GB storage): an excellent 7.2-inch screen, the only large quality non-foldable model, very practical for allowing a senior to read without glasses. A very decent camera during the day and in low light, provided you do not abuse the zoom beyond x10 (as with all current smartphones). Good quality sound, even when recording videos (videos possible up to 4k in good conditions. 2.4 and 5Ghz wifi with very good speed, high-performance 4G, perfect bluetooth in the car. On the other hand, if you take the Chinese version (Harmony 4 which works very well in many languages (French for me) and with all the applications from the Google Playstore), remember to replace the annoying default keyboard application with the Microsoft one, free on the Playstore). The battery, very durable (2 days of autonomy) did not support the heatwave of this last summer at the peak but was easily replaced for a few dozen euros, labor included. For fear of not finding a new smartphone of this quality with a large 7.2-inch screen on the market one day, I bought the same one as a precaution (I still use the old one). The new one is here under Android (not Harmony) and works just as well, with the latter by default the much more practical Microsoft keyboard. There is a new version of this 7.2-inch model benefiting from 5G (in my opinion useless) but it is a little more expensive and the battery is then smaller (4200 instead of 5000 mA) even if it is very probably sufficient with this model of smartphone. I hope that other manufacturers will one day offer devices with 7.2-inch screens, much more practical (and robust) than foldable screens ...
