I was a big Fans of Huawei's Mate Series Since Mate 20 Pro and Now i'm Still using Mate 30 Pro. I have No idea to upgrade to Huawei latest devices Since there were so much limitations on HARMONYOS, especially for Apps that need GMS's access like Disney Plus Hotstar, Tokopedia, Gojek, Netmarble Games many more.

My point is about the average consumer, they will look at the bigger number and think it's better just by seeing 5g instead of 4g, those people are simple and when they see a bigger number it equals to better in their mind.
My point since the first comment has been about the average consumer who doesn't understand a lot about tech.

You´re lucky! In Germany a 3gb 5g contract costs 10eu! And the best is, that in my part of town (where around 7000 people live) there is only one 5g tower which won´t even reach my house.

Haven&#... moreMy comment mainly applies to Portugal and Spain, also in Portugal 5G plans aren't more expensive, if you had a 4g plan you get a free upgrade to 5g for no extra cost (I think in Spain the same happens). Looks like in other European countries it might not be the same (also kind of rubbish to pay more for 5g).
Still my comment applies, if you are the average consumer and go into a store and see a phone with 4g next to a phone with 5g, unless you know what your getting, most people would get the 5g phone, in the mind of those consumers bigger number= better.

I still got my P20 Pro Mate from 4 years ago. Yes, 4 years. Ie had no reason to change it and, believe me, it's the best phone I've ever held in the palm of my hands in terms of interface, battery longevity, etc.

Your flat out wrong, if you check tech companies, Huawei are in 16, only if you search smartphones companies is when Huawei enters the top 10 being in number 8 spot, the data I have is from 2022, Wikipedia data is from 2021. Huawei's influence in the market and value has decreased a lot compared with last year. Also don't take me as an Huawei hater, I own a P20 pro and still really like it, but it's just a fact that Huawei has lost a lot of influence over the smartphone market, to the point that competitors don't see Huawei as a threat anymore.

And still don't see it being practical, since most other phones (even cheap phones) include 5g build in.
