The Mate 50 Pro is, indeed, among the best camera phones on the market, but a big mistake you could do about that is to trust DXOMARK's rankings. They're not accurate at all and brands actually might pay them to put their phone on the top or say good things about it.

The only mate device that's wider than this is the Mate 20 X which was a massive 7.2" screen version of the mate 20

Mate series used to be wider in display but now it's almost identical to p series size :/. Should make it 78-80mm wider in display almost bezeless

Today I tried this device.
I will say it feels really luxurios and the periscope camera is pretty good imo.
Gestures work great, but EMUI looks terriblr as always. All white and trying to emulate iOS design language.
Other than that, well, I guess its a Huawei device. Perhaps it will spy on you and take selfies for Mr. Xi Jinping

Well ask the Samsung S flagship series and the Iphone series if their phone design is not "repetitive".
Also the price of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro here in my country is the hell damn cheaper than the Iphone 14 Pro Max and Samsung S23 Ultra, let's just say the 8 512 Orange Kunlun Variant of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro is more than a hundred dollars cheaper than the Apple Iphone 14 Pro Max 8 128 variant and 200 Dollars cheaper than the Samsung S23Ultra's 8 256 Variant, but I guess it all comes to the country they are being sold to, but here in our's Huawei is much more cheaper but has the same product quality as Apples and Samsungs

As a former owner of the mate 20 pro, and even the Honor 8 before that, that was a genuine evolution of a smartphone when it released, and I'm confident they still put out top cameras. My point is, since the ban, they just haven't been the same, and it's not their fault. They stopped the production of their kirin processers which in my opinion, was better than Apple's, and don't have google play services on their phones which is a major L. If none of that happened, I'm pretty sure Huawei would have been so far ahead of the game, Samsung would have been left in the dust and made Apple look like a rotten fruit.

But Huawei, Huawei is still killing it with their camera performance. Just check the P50 Pro and Mate 50 Pro, the GSMArena review. They are still among the best

Finally, it also competes with them in low light as well, and in my experience with the Samsung, its actually better although it's a much more closer debate this time around. Huawei, had they not been stopped in their paths, would have been leading the pack by quite a distance, but they've gone downhill since then really.

I used to have a mate 20 pro, the thing was a beast and ahead of its time. It's a shame what the incompetent US government did against Huawei, they were overtaking Apple and matching, possibly beating Samsung to the title of best android phone on the market. Only if google services is allowed back on these devices and they have access to the Snapdragon chips, in parallel to their own Kirin chips, Huawei would be by far the most advanced company out there. A Huawei phone with a 5000 + mAH battery and google services enabled would be a technical monster for years to come.
