The design is relatively nice.The phone performance is good. The battery is perfect, good capacity and fast charging.
The display is wide and nice, no colors depth but it is good enough.
Yet it lacks some high end features that i am disappointed with it.
1- The vibration intensity is extremely low, it is too low to be noticed.
2- NFC is slow, i tried it with Sony Xperia Z5 it worked slowly, with Note 2 and Note 3 Neo it kept disconnecting.
3-The notification sound is not independently controlled.
4- The camera is not as expected, for example macro shots(close shots) don't work.
5- The camera timer sound is too low to be noticed.
6- The keyboard language settings is not working properly, I can't use both English and Arabic at the same time!! Both languages exist but i can't use them together!! I had to use a third party app!!
7- Knuckle gestures, i have to hit the screen a bit hard to be effective! It should be much smoother than that.

Its a very good phone I mean blazing fast, good design, long battery and a big display with enough brightness don't know others but for me full hd is more than enough. The only thing I am worried is a good case cause every time I feel like I'll drop it I don't know why.....hahaha

mzboy, 05 Apr 2016I am using Mate 8 for the last 3 months..its amazing phone.... morewhen play game you set to performance mode? You can find the setting in battery there.
If you like camera I suggest you try Huawei P9 Leica...haha

After update of mate 8,the big change that came into my notice is battery long lasting cause before update I was worried about my bettery that is draining like 11 to 12% during in idol mood (night time ) and that made me to think that may be I got no doze in my mate but now it eat only 3 to 4% and other I notice is change in color temperature and addition of health and shezam apps.....is any one got these two in addition

Bought one with 128gb, which turned out to be for China's domestic market, so no google services were installed. After installing google play from the internet, its easy to download the missing google services that you need. After using it for a week, let me just share my observations: Battery life is truly outstanding, despite being a heavy user, it easily last me through the day. Phone is smooth and fast, and after trying several games, no lags were experienced, which I encountered on the LG V10 running the same game. Camera of the LG V10 is much better though. As for the UI, if you ever use an android device from a Chinese Manufacturer, you will feel right at home. Its not that much different from my Xiaomi Mi 3. And launcher could easily be replaced by downloading one at the playstore. As for themes, Xiaomi have much more to offer than Huawei, which only have limited themes available at their Huawei Store.

The phone is pretty amazing except for video-zoom quality and the material used for the part right below the screen. (the part which has printed "Huawei"). The phone got dropped from like 3 feet height and it seriously damaged the bottom of the phone. Very poor quality material. Very disappointed on that. But features/functions-wise, it's really really good.

I got Mate 8 about a month back and found it to be an excellent device matching any other top of the line phones. Though mine is a moderate one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, still i find it powerful enough to be used with all given features with ease and speed. Recommended keeping in view the cost / quality comparison with other expensive top devices.
