Square screens have no us... moreyou don't get it, in videos you get bigger black bars top and bottom, not to the sides like with normal smartphones, thus videos are in fact bigger on a foldable, like when you zoom in to full screen on youtube on a 16:9 video but the video gets cropped top and bottom, on a foldable that is the exact same size but no top and bottom crop. another thing is these are amazing for reading, and there's also multitasking, like watching a video and looking something up at the same time, or scrolling two social media apps at the same time doubling the brainrot input. so if you're a big content consumer(that's not scrolling brainrot) these are actually great.

Square screens have no use cases outside of photo viewing (which is pretty niche). Video is about as big as in phones (you only get get giant black bars). Social media apps / scroll heavy apps are made for tall screens, so again you don't get much from the internal screen.

        In the end you end up using the external screen defeating the purpose of the foldable.

        Mate XT ultimate is the first true foldable as it gives use case for in the internal screen (way better for social media scrolling when held vertically, way better for video when held horizontally, for games too)...

        IMO the dual folds are niche products and will never catch up. Square screens are horrible.

                greedyguts, 02 Dec 2024Why no info about cpu. 1700 eur for this is a joke.Because Huawei doesn't officially reveal what chipsets their smartphones have ever since the US sanctions. But it's most likely a Kirin 9020 here as on the Mate 70 series
