I am not a developer by any stretch of the imagination and just want to use this phone "as is" out of the box. So I buy the phone, open the box... say I am going to start an AT&T account - what do I do next with the phone to get it to work? Thanks for your time!

I also heard from a person in Northern Virginia (the same state I am in) that he gets 4G but not 4G LTE on Cricket (using AT&T towers). But he might have been blowing smoke because he was selling his P8MAX to buy an X2 instead. Where would you buy your X2 in the USA? I hear that there is an Honor X2 (Chinese) and another X2 that's an international version (which is better). What's your opinion about all of this?

You have to have T-Mobile or AT&T. Get the X2. It's cheaper and has a larger battery.

This phone is the best of the best for the money. I have tried every one of them. This phone works everywhere where I live. I had a huawei ascend mate 2 in Virginia USA and I dropped a few calls. But this phone, as soon as I dial it connects, at a store where in my county where no one has a signal this phone works. It has a powerful radio. My old ATT Note 3 did not do this. Had the Asus padfone x mini, No signal. BLU 6.0 HD LTE, weak signal. ascend mate 2 was the only one that compared. You must email them for the lock code, the online site to get the unlock code only works if you registered with huawei ID on your phone (the IMEI has to registered) and you have to be in a country that allows that. They won't let you register from the USA using a SIM card from a USA carrier. So you have to email them and wait . Head over XDA, mediapad x2 has its own forum now.
