Huawei Mobile posts P30 teaser video

Enrique, 06 March 2019

Huawei Mobile posted a video teaser of the upcoming Huawei P30 Series launch. Just earlier today, it was confirmed by Huawei Mobile’s VP of marketing that the phone would feature a periscope-style zoom camera that would be able to achieve some insane long-range capabilities.

An image of the moon’s surface was also posted to the Chinese social media site Weibo back in mid-February which marketing VP Clement Wong confirmed was taken handheld and processed in-device. Interestingly, the moon makes an appearance in today’s teaser video.

The other thing in the teaser video appears to be an improvement in loudspeaker performance. At around the 18-second mark in the video, we see some animations related to speakers and sound waves suggesting the P series might finally have stereo speakers or perhaps incorporate some alternative to LG’s Crystal Sound in the G8 which produces sound using the glass in the display.

The bubbling and 3D effects in the teaser video are interesting, but we’re not sure if they suggest some other feature. Maybe we’ll see 3D face unlock like on the Mate 20 Pro, but we don’t want to say for sure.

The P Series is Huawei’s photography oriented smartphone lineup so naturally we are expecting great things from this camera. Huawei confirmed it will have a quad camera setup with “super-zoom” capabilities. The phone will be officially announced in Paris on March 26.

Hm I see. I'd say wait some time then. We have very few 855 phones at the moment

They are just my options as a replacement for my Mate 10. Actually I want to try SD 855 partnered with good specs and reasonable price.

Ah, so you really want to go for the P30 eh?
