rj23, 04 Oct 2015Go with the Nexus 6P, Note 4 is great but is already outdated!I would not trade my note 4 for anything currently available on the market. Actually 2015 is the first year (for the last 10) I will not upgrade my phone. This year, the only manufacturer with a great hardware is samsung, and in my view, they had a chance to almost kill the android concurrency, but they blow it.. I don't consider note 5 an upgrade over note 4 and not to mention that it is not even available in Europe..

          AnonD-308477, 04 Oct 2015So what is it, octa-core or quad-core? Here on gsmarena it... moreSnapdragon 810 is an Octacore CPU that uses the big.LITTLE architecture. The first set of quad core with a lower clock speed runs the light tasks and the higher clock speed quad core handles heavy duty tasks.

            Directly from Qualcomm, 808 and 810 processors are both 64-bits chips.

            Here it says dual-quad-core, eg octa core. That's what the Snapdragon 810 is. The 808 on the other hand (used in 5X) is a hexa core.

                    Currently own a Samsung S3 (loved the update latency so much that I jumped ship to Cyanogenmod) - love the fact that the battery is removable and I can add a 64GB chip to get 96GB. But more and more companies are opting to remove the external memory - and of course you don't get "96GB" but rather "32GB" + "64GB". I would probably opt for the 128GB - with the 6P - so I am glad that it is offered - minimum would be 64GB. Just over 3y and no decrease in battery performance - I guess they are a lot better than before esp when you add things like JuiceDefender and of course remove the Samsung OS (chuckle).

                    One glaring oversight is the lack of the wireless charging (Qi-enabled) - which the Nexus 6 had and the newer Samsungs. I reviewed other Huawei phones and even their flagship (P8 - man that is a looker) - doesn't support it. Sad. Not something to prevent me from buying but the thought of coming home and just resting it on a pad without f'ing around with a plug - what a way to fly! It is one of those things that when you read about it - you just "get it" and all the plebes in the world don't. (The Huawei has the specs posted and likewise no mention of NFC).

                    But I like the idea of the front facing speakers - would love to see how they perform - though I use bluetooth everywhere - in a pinch it can come in handy. Plus the 5MP front facing camera over the crappy 2MP on the Nexus 6 is a good improvement.

                    I was actually gung ho on the Nexus 6 until I read about the pathetic performance lost due to encryption. Have to see how this thing fairs compared to devices -- per an "Android Police" article, Google is still doing software encryption but has a better chipset:

                    "The big difference in this year's Nexus phones is that they're running the Snapdragon 810 and 808, which are 64-bit SoCs with the ARMv8 instruction set. According to Burke, there are cryptography extensions provided by ARMv8 that offer better performance than the AES hardware encryption you could do on the Qualcomm SoC."

                    http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/30/the-nexus-5x-and-6p-have-software-accelerated-encryption-but-the-nexus-team-says-its-better-than-hardware-encryption/

                    And there you go. Problem solved. :p

                        @GSMArena
                        With 169 cm i'm slightly under of planet's male average, a lots taller than planet's human average and my back pockets are 135-140 mm in average. 160 mm device would be an open gift to thieves. Back in time GSMArena was launching a campaign in favor of compact top devices. 5X turned out to looks like 7 years old ultra cheap chinese device. It's about a time to relaunch campaign. We need a well design compact Nexus that fits pockets.

                                idk about SD card but about battery: if it had removable battery, then u`ll say bye to aluminum back... there`s 2 option: 1. aluminum back and non-removable 2. reverse

                                  And in terms of transferring media files from your old device to a new one SD card is obviously more convenient.
