I received the EMUI 9.1 update yesterday afternoon in Australia for my Huawei nova 3i it works great so far so everyone else should receive it soon

Reception and music quality well.

Camera:
- Higher MP doesn't mean better camera.
- Dual camera will mostly have depth sensor which allows more details to be captured. If in selfie camera, it's very useful got portrait mode for better edge detection.
- Triple camera will offer wide angle/bigger pictures + depth sensor.
- Gyro-Eis makes videos stable/remove shakiness.
- Ois compensates for hand shakiness in pictures - very good for lowlight photography.
- More FPS = smoother videos. Good for recording videos with a lot of movement.
3400 mAh battery
10 watt charging is normal. Higher than it charges fast.
Plastic body is lightweight and stronger against falls but more prone to scratches while metal & glass are more resistant to scratches but heavier and more breakable.
These are the basics. Use them to compare and find the best device for yourself. Camera can vary, but the other specs shouldn't be lower than these in this price.
Make sure to check reviews and test videos as some devices software isn't properly optimised, so they make take bad pictures even if they've a better camera.

potato, 21 Jul 2019how is the performance of nova 3i compared to nova 2i? i no... moreNova 3i has Kirin 710 which is a 12nm chipset, which means it uses much less battery than Kirin 659 which is 12nm, present in Nova 2i.
There is a significant performance difference as well. Kirin 710 can play games like PUBG on HD graphics while Kirin 659 plays on smooth or medium.
The main difference between Nova 3i and P30 lite is in camera and charging speed. The performance and battery timing is same in both phones, and the display experience is almost the same (P30 lite just has better viewing angles).
P30 lite charges faster and its camera is much better according to specs, but I've seen some bad reviews about its camera. It seems it's not properly optimised and it's up to Huawei to fix it in update. If you're going to buy it, it will mainly be for camera, so check its camera performance properly first.
If you're going to buy Nova 3i, also consider Honor 10 Lite. It's much cheaper than Nova 3i in my country and only major difference is that it lacks depth sensor in selfie camera, so Nova 3i *should* be able to capture slighlty better details based on specs.
The other difference is that 10 lite has plastic body which can get scratches - but is stronger than Nova 3i body.
10 lite also has EMUI 9.1 so it's more up to date in software. And some variants has NFC as well, which Nova 3i seems to lack.
